In the first story, if there is a one year waiting list, there is no way you can come an hour early and get your table. Also, what abort the time difference? It seems like both families had their dinner more or less simultaneously, but there is a five hour difference between Hawaii and Japan, and three hours between Hawaii and the american westcoast.

First story: Little problem with this story. A local branch of an international restaurant is going to have individual reservations of each of their locations, much less give it out to a random person!
