I have a helpful tip for your beginners watching this Kachi… rather than cutting the seam allowances at different amounts, I find that if you cut them at the same - let’s say 2cm as an example - you can sew the seam wrong sides together, trim away the excess on just one side, and then fold the fabric over and sew down to enclose for the strong felled seam. It’s often easier for sewing beginners to manage. ❤️ Can’t wait to see your finished jeans. 😍

Yeah! French seam, i love It! It looks so haute couture and the fabric won't fray as the result, the garment will last longer 🥰
@SandraVick19632 жыл бұрын
I do it too. I think it’s far easier to just cut half the seam allowance after it’s been sewed.

A interesting fact about denim: they were invested here where I live, in Nîmes, France. The name denim comes from french "de Nîmes" which means "from Nîmes". Love your mint jeans!!! 🥰

Nice outfit definitely motivates for the day, every time I wear pajamas I am lazy... :D I didnt know jeans are that hard to make, I wish there was more jeans with big and deep front pockets, that's what women want! T.T

First of all: I'm in love with the jeans, the color and the stitching is neat, wow! Second: oh girl! You aren't a sewing enthusiast if you haven't had that rush to finish a piece and wear it right away (inside details might have been skipped because of that rush) third: would you consider making a video on pants defect and how to correct them? 💕

I always loved sewing jeans. Somehow it is easier because the fabric is stiffer..flatter when nicely pressed also it is fast rewarding since you can enjoy every nice double stitch immediately. Sewing jeans with cotton canvas ! Why haven't I thought of that...!? My next jeans for sure... Danke sehr!!

I just finished my first pair of pants using this pattern. I definitely got into that finishig mode. It's 01.20 and I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow early morning, but I wanted to wear my Matilda so badly :D I'm in love and already planning a second pair made out of corduroy or wool. OK. Good night.

When you make the fake (or real for that matter) flat-felled seam, is one line centred at what would be the usual stitch line and the other asymmetrically to one side? Like the crotch seam for example
@THISISKACHI3 жыл бұрын
They are always asymmetrical - orientate your seam on the front as there is only way you can fold it and fold the cb seam the same way 😊

I love this! I just made a pair of pants but I wonder if you have any tips on how to reshape a pattern for the waist? Because when I choose a pattern size that fits around my hips and butt, it’s way too big around my waist and I don’t know how to reshape it to keep the hips the same but the waist smaller 🥲 But this is a great video 🥰

Hey! I have the exact same problem, I’m making these jeans for my fashion class final, and my friend who has been sewing basically her whole life said to put the pants on inside out, and safety pin on both sides how much you need off , then take them off and sew (while inside out) both spots so its all on the inside and looks professional! I haven’t tried it yet but it should work! Hope this helps!

In the jeans industrie NO seams , no front fly, no pocket curves, no waistband are reinforced. The only reinforcement is by making back yoke seams, side seams with flat felled seam machine, these seams are automatically folded by the machine...so no need to fold the seam in advance.

If I position the back pockets symmetrically, but then fold the center back seam to one side and make a double top stitch, one back pocket will be closer to the seam than the other :( Or am I misunderstanding this?

@julif.46422 жыл бұрын
@THISISKACHI2 жыл бұрын
Hi!

The Video was great
@THISISKACHI3 жыл бұрын
Yes, for the flat felled seam you need both in a thick thread! Because both sides with show. And talking from the experience with my jeans in the Video where I used normal thread in the bobbin, it was a pain! Cause the tension was always kinda off no matter what I did. I would suggest both threads as thick thread for projects like this in general - I do that normally as well but I was short on thick thread and had to use normal thread in the bobbin. Wouldn't recommend tho! It works totally fine for me with thick thread in both usually 🥰
@gesamarie28243 жыл бұрын
@@THISISKACHI Yeah I already tried to do a flat-fell seam with both thick treads and it works surprisingly well :-) Couple of years ago, the first time i used thick thread i had lot's of trouble with my tention when using both thick threads. Since the I always used mixed threads and had no issues with my tention^^ But for flat-fell seams it looks a lot cleaner if you use both threads in a simular thickness :)

Well fit women’s jeans use the yolk to get fullness to the backside because you don’t have any kind of darts. You will find the yolk in women’s jeans larger than in juniors in the USA Woman have bigger curves. I enjoy your video you do a great job.! For the love of God why didn’t you make your front pockets bigger? It is so annoying to have a pocket that I can’t put my cell phone in or anything else!
@THISISKACHI3 жыл бұрын
Cause I use my back pockets for my phone 🤷🏻♀️ the front ones are way too tight anyways for my phone 🙈
