The kid was probably was so calm because a trauma response is to go numb and to sometimes have a blank face when you’re being yelled at. You become emotional numb and you body just goes on autopilot. She was used to be yelled at to the point to where she instinctively didn’t react. It’s also sometimes the best reaction when you know your not gonna win either way. You smile- your being smart- you cry- imma give you something to cry about. So it’s best to stay neutral.

yesss. my mom was like this. and now that I’m currently temporarily living with my grandma, she’s the saaame way. I’m so used to it, like I have literally learned to tune that ish out. I have cleaned this lady’s nasty🍑 tub🛀, and had been brooming and mopping her filthy kitchen floor. one day I had to rush to the bathroom, and instead of hurrying up to pick up the trash, I was going to go back and clean it after I was done. My cousin comes to visit and after I was done, my grandma calls the both of us, I thought “before I go to her let me hurry up and broom up that dirt I left on the kitchen floor” I go to the kitchen and there is our grandma complaining to my cousin about how “dirty” and “ungrateful” I am. I WISH I had taken a before and after picture/video to show her, would a dirty ungrateful person clean your nasty🍑 tub, broom you nasty🍑 floors and I even thought about cleaning and organizing her nasty, filthy🍑 refrigerator.

Once again this trend of embarrassing your children on social media is unacceptable. These children grow up resenting their parents due to how mistreated they were. Being a teen not too long ago gives me the insight to say it is highly detrimental to do things like this. My own mother and older sister had an intervention for me in high school. And I will never forget the day that I felt humiliated by the ones closest to me. I even wanted to commit suicide. So really think about what you say to your children. It can be the very thing that stands between life and death.

My favorite aspect of being a teenager was the FREEDOM. I literally had one job, go to school and learn. That's it. No bills, no work everyday, no relationships and it's weight, nothing but school. I miss just not being responsible for my whole life, just my education. But I love it at the same time. Being an adult is so much better than being a child. I knew a girl(13/14 yr old), her mother(after a hard day at work) caught her doing adult stuff with her boyfriend on her mothers bed, her mother beat her with a belt for the disrespect. The gurl went on to call the police on her mother to tell them she didn't have citizenship and the result was that her mother got deported and she was put into child services since she was born in that country. The boys parents would've been called ASAP. I would explain the situation and advise them to come and collect their child. And that their child is no longer welcome in my house. And my child is no longer allowed to hang or go around their house. Then once we are alone I will speak with my child and find out what is going on. Allow her to talk and listen, try to find an understanding. Once that is done I will treasure my child that we will work through this but she will still be punished for her actions. My mum used to try to talk but the shouting was less effective. To the point the talking become less affective too. After she kicked me out at 18 for something I didn't do. I lost a lot of respect her. And from then I said I don't wanna go back home. Been out since then. I walked on the street with nowhere to go bro. That was so sad now I look back. Thank goodness one of my sisters lived close by but she couldn't keep me long. Let me stay the night and tried help me get somewhere to stay. Unfortunately that didn't work as my mum was unavailable at the time. So I ended going to my cousins house. And I cried for a whole week. Everyday I cried. Then after that I didn't wanna go back home. When I finally did not by my own free will. Mother apologized but I didn't care anymore. Few months later I moved out. It wasn't all bad but as parents we need to learn how to better communicate with our children. It does get frustrating and it will be difficult but we have to try. I feel I speak more to my son than I was ever spoken to. And he's still young but at least as he grows I will continue to. Most importantly listen to him when he talks. He's very expressive and will tell you how he feels, and I listen and understand and show him I do. I did a short online parenting course and tbh it opened up my eyes as a first time mum. Anyways stay blessed

I’m 15 and I can say that most teenagers actually aren’t like this. I feel like social media perpetuates a hyper fixated reality. Meaning social media shows that same thing (such as teens acting grown) over and over again so that it seems like a normal thing. But when u go out in the real world u don’t see it as often. So for all the adults out there yes there definitely are teens who try to act grown that not the majority of us it’s a hyper fixated minority. Before i finish this comment I want to point out the obvious: the mom is wrong for putting the child out, she is wrong for yelling at the child, and she did not need to put this on social media. However, I think the mom is genuinely trying to be a good mom to her kids. This is definitely an extreme reaction and should not have been put on social media but this is definitely not as bad as other videos that have been reacted to. The mom needs to do some self reflecting and figure out why the child is acting out.. parents hate to admit this but sometimes their child feels neglected due to something that they are doing or not doing. Also I agree that she should not have disclosed her running away history.. this is the same toxic mistake that police make when black children go missing but they have a history of running away. I hope nothing bad ever happens to this child and I hope her and the mom go get some help.

A intelligent person!! It's okay that the mother was wrong to expose her daughter on social networks. But this daughter must be recurrent! The mother should already be tired. Something similar happened in my house, related to two cousins that were old. I had 16. My mother always took good care of them, never made distinction between us but they did what they did. In my mother's bed, my bed and in their beds, one of them even left in some of the "event". My mother talked to their mothers and were taken away.

I was raised good, with high morals and values, and I was 14 years old and was sneaking friends on the house while my parents were at church I am the oldest of 6 and all my siblings as well as myself would sneak all of our friends in the house. I agree the mom is pretty lenient, she let’s this boy come over her house. Chill with her daughter, feeds him. And even makes sure he gets home. But I also feel like the daughter is acting out like this because the boy , he might be a bad influence on her. What is this kid doing to get shot? And who knows what danger the daughter could be in? I’m sure she’s fed up and wondering what she did wrong. I feel like she just needs to teach her daughter to choose better friends and maybe talk to her more. Started med school now I’m a nurse(still in school trying to become a surgeon) and I’m married now and pregnant (new mom) and believe it or not haha im 20 yrs old🤦🏽‍♀️ but I still love my life. But enjoy it while you have it!! Because when it’s time to start life for real you aren’t gonna regret it but you might cry sometimes haha! Be glad you don’t have heavy responsibilities.
