It depends on how bad my cramps are but back when I was in school I would skip most of my first period days lol cause the pain for me 80% of the time was unbearable and even just laying down and doing nothing is hard to go through. I try not to take painkillers if the pain wasn't a 8-10 in period scales but even with mild pain, either my ass would hurt or my legs would hurt or both + extreme gastric. Tips for young queens tho, personally heat packs, brown sugar ginger tea, mint ointment(?) helps with soothing cramps etc? If I didn't have a sweatshirt to tie around my waist then I felt like the universe could see my pad so it was my security blanket lol

I got my first period during a basketball event. Our uniforms were white based, so y’all can only imagine how that went. My nana raised me from 6mo to 17 when she blessed Heaven with her presence. It was so crazy; running to the bathroom in pure humiliation. And before I could even call for her; she was there with tampons. Nana knew it was coming because I had been super hormonal for 2 weeks (I didn’t realize this at the time. I just hated everyone and everything and that what I knew) she not only came to my rescue, but nana showed me exactly how to put one in without me having to ask because I was taking so long. My nana, my momma, my daddy, my best friend. God Bless every part of her soul. RIP. 1/23/12 ❤

Girls have it tough. I know boys who didn't even bother wearing their underwear until they almost got circumcised by their zippers.

My mom was and still is so much about my periods. Like she's always telling me to be careful, period hacks, to use better pads and stuff. Bruh it's so hard to get her off, it's just awkward. Especially because I knew most things about it when I was 10 and internet helped me with the rest. But thank goodness, never did my mother forced me to go to school when I had periods

İ still remember the day i got my period. İ was 11 at that time and when i got it İ was kinda scared. İ went to my mom and asked her if she could come to my room. She came to my room İ was in tears and my mom was so scared that something happened to me. İ told her "Mum İ'm bleeding under. İ think İ got my period" and then burst into tears and hugged my mum. She hugged me and said " "Awww my precious little daughter, my angel, congrats" and then İ was crying on her shoulder and she waited for me to have my time. İt's been 4 years. İt isn't possible for me to forget yet but İ'll never forget it. For parents: İt may seem something little but your child will never forget the times you were supportive and kind. İ'll never forget that day and any other day when i am and will be with my mum. She is the best !

A senior in school showed me how to. It was awkward changing it in front of them but they had their back on me. Was still nice they helped like that. Music teacher is the one who brought the pads.

My parents picked me up when I got my first period while at school (my teacher gave me a pad to use because I'd gone to the bathroom and that's when I realized so I went back and asked her for one. She was and still is my favorite teacher I've ever had. She was like an aunt to me) and got me pads, chocolate and one of those bottled starbucks Frappuccino cuz they were my favorite drink at the time and then they let me stay home the rest of the day ❤ I'm so thankful for them.
