here are some of my thoughts! I think the latest MVs are somewhat connected because in like the first few seconds of the MV there is the same envelope from the ghost MV, and i also think this could add on to his "lore" per se To me the mask or as the community calls him "Tobi" is a figment of his imagination or hallucinations of sorts. It's like hes being haunted and he can't fully let go of that part of him. it's become something he wants to get rid of but cant I think Charley is trying to experiment and branch out his style of music so im not 100% sure if all of his music will be a certain style. i do enjoy the different things hes been trying and i cant wain for the album!!

I think that his aesthetic in his more recent songs of trying to "escape the mask" and that old version of himself comes from so many people giving backlash on his change in music style. All this "bring back the mask" and "where's the ukulele" I feel is making him feel stressed, and he's been trying to solidify for over a year now that he wants that part of his life to be a closed door and open himself to what he WANTS to do rather than the persona that he thinks his audience wants him to be. While I can see where you're coming from with the "put away the cigarette", I disagree with "bring back the ukulele". He's made growth and I don't think we should stifle that with something that he clearly wants to put to rest. Love your guys' videos though, can't wait to see what you think of the rest of the album :)

Full explanation: who they refer to “boywithuke” is Tobi, his mask/the voice inside his head. Through out All his albums all of them refer to certain types of dreams, such as: fever dreams, serotonin dreams, etc. lucid dreams is where he starts to “wake up”. Being lucid means to become aware that you are dreaming, and since Charlie/BoyWithUke has woken up, Tobi is trying to make sure he doesn’t escape.

i feel like alot of people are going to hop off the boywithuke train with this album and because of its completely new style. So far out of the 3 songs in the album he has released i only enjoy "can you feel it". i feel like it would have been a better career move to slowly transition into the album and use this last album as a way to finally put the uke to bed before he changes everything. I respect the move away from the uke but i do miss it and as i said earlier the only song from this album without the uke that i honestly really enjoy is "can you feel it". we will have to see what the future brings with the rest of the album

As a cancer survivor as well, I think the smoking adds a certain aesthetic to the vid. I find smoking disgusting, but I don’t like the idea of judging people for smoking, as many times they have in to peer pressure and got addicted. That being said, the ciggy in the vid is a theatre one. If he actually smoked he would be unable to sing due to the damage to his voice.
