I was not expecting the old "pin the murder on my 7 year old daughter" defense. What a solid strategy...
@robertbeard2303 күн бұрын
Unfortunately, this is an incredibly manipulative woman. She may have convinced the daughter that her father deserved it, that he was abusive and she did it to “save” them both, and so the daughter agreed to lie. It’s also possible she convinced her daughter that’s exactly what happened; she could’ve easily planted that idea in her head, then “revealed” to her that, “No, sweetie, I was just protecting you when I buried him, because you grabbed a gun and blah blah blah…” And let’s be honest here. It’s pretty apparent to me that this woman was the aggressor throughout their horrid relationship. During her 911 call she didn’t first report what she claimed her husband had done, but opened with claiming that “there’s been a case of domestic violence”. That’s a classic manipulator’s strategy to insist that the framework of the conversation can only happen on her terms. She didn’t say, “Here’s the event that led me to call,” or, “Here’s what’s happened the last few moments.” She absolutely insisted that the conversation must move forward once the dispatcher agree that she was the victim. Just like she insisted her daughter come forward only once she agreed that she’d killed her father. The biggest thing for me was that the wound was on the back of his head. This wasn’t a woman who fired at an angry man who was viciously attacking her; she walked up behind him and fired before he knew what was happening. They might have been arguing, but it doesn’t seem she was at risk of great bodily injury or death. What would’ve really been cold is if he dug out the hole for the blocks for that fire pit, and she just shot hi there so she didn’t have to carry him. If I were to make this a Hollywood film, that’s how I would portray it, but that’s just pure speculation at this point.
@NissanSkyline9013 күн бұрын
I would almost guarantee she manipulated her daughter into it by playing on the emotions of potentially loosing both of her parents and told her that if she confessed and used the excuse of shooting him while protecting Laurie during a fight that Laurie could get away with it and the daughter wouldn't have to loose both of her parents.
@cd5sircoupe3 күн бұрын
@@robertbeard230 Solid post, you thought about this a lot more than I did. The gunshot to the back of the head got me too. I thought to myself, hmm a 7 y/o shot her father in the back of the head huh? Well the only way that could physically happen was if she had the high ground or he was already on the ground... or maybe it wasn't the child who shot him at all. Shocker, I know. If he had dug the hole for the fire pit and Laurie shot him afterwards, I agree that's some cold blooded shit. I would not be surprised if that's how it went down to be honest.

Ouch. I was briefly married to a Bunny Boiler just like Mike was. So you have my condolences and understanding. Too bad that Mike didn't have the photos I did, as that got me a fast & easy divorce. However, I had to sell my home and leave my hometown for good due to the stalking, which including an assualt with a baseball bat just as I was an hour away from driving off in my van pulling a trailer with my tools... You can't do anything to change the past, just like I will have to deal with the injuries to my left arm & shoulder for the rest of my life. What you can do in memory of Mike is address this idea that the male is always the aggressor. As most counties will charge the male partner for domestic violence if the female partner shows any signs of injuries, regardless of the injuries to him. But they will also look for reasons that the male partner made her do it. That likely happened to your husband's best friend, and was also the angle of the police when I tried to report the first assault with the baseball bat assault & her kicking my blind house cat in a drunken rage. Had I done anything she would have gotten what she wanted, my house for her and my camper van for her brother. Having too much Native blood to pass for White I knew that a single mark on her would have sent me to prison. So if you want to do anything in memory of your husband's best friend, I would suggest contributing to legitimate causes that address male rights in relationships that go bad. As it appears that the only reason for him going back into the house with that sociopath of a woman was his responsibility for their children, which cost him his life...

The photo of the daughter even as a pre-teen shows she is slight and thin. It's ridiculous that anyone would believe that she could hold and aim a handgun and shoot one shot perfectly behind the head. Laurie is so entrenched in her lies, she doesn't even see how absurd they sound. She can lie straight-faced showing herself to be a true psycho.
