Some people do have actual alter egos but this woman does not. You cannot just change whenever you want, it is a thing caused by a negative or emotional thing happening to the person. I don’t have it myself but I have done numerous research as I am so interested in it. Sometimes, some people may be able to communicate with their alter egos if they are at the front. Not as much as this mum does though! Just a thought, if she does has it, then I’m sorry but my research disagrees!

Ankita Roy Narcissistic Personality Disorder with delusions. These delusions are not psychosis like schizophrenia, but delusions that come about when a person convinces themselves of something. Think of it as like when a person lies to themselves to the point where they begin to believe their own lie. Narcissists often have mild delusions of grandeur because they convince themselves of their own self-importance to the point where it distorts their reality. The ending of “repressing Towanda” seemed like a mixture of a last-ditch effort to get her to pick the dress she liked, as well as attention-seeking. That being said, some people DO actually have “alternate personalities” that are actually psychotic delusions. They aren’t faking their symptoms, it’s just not coming from Dissociative Identity Disorder. You see this in patients on the schizophrenia spectrum, as well as Bipolar Type 1, which comes with psychotic features. Source: Studied personality disorders, specifically Cluster B Personality Disorders (like Narcissism).

However, like I said before, I do agree with you because that is definitely unusual behavior if she really does have a personality disorder.
@chaticc3 жыл бұрын
@@khaotics3663 , Of course, I know about that! Triggers! Something as simple as a person speaking ill of them can bring back some bad memories, causing an episode of DID. Or positive triggers when an alter fronts because they heard the music they like to play! Which are both still bad for you because you shouldn't force yourself to dissociate, it can cause headaches, memory loss and such. @hayleephillips74093 жыл бұрын
@@kesiasajji7345 I do think that if someone has DID it should be taken seriously. I know I cannot speak to the truth of this situation, but I know there are certain mothers out there who make life a living hell for their children. The mother may actually have mental challenges or disabilities that caused this to happen, but she may also just be using this as an excuse to treat her daughter poorly. Many mothers or other family members choose to treat those in their family badly for various reasons. So it isn’t unheard of; we just don’t really know the nature of the relationship and we aren’t perfectly aware of the facts of the situation.
@kesiasajji73453 жыл бұрын
@@hayleephillips7409 from what I've read and seen online, people with DID can't switch their personalities like that on their own will. You can't threaten to do something that is not in your control. But she's clearly threatening her daughter to do what she wants in the name of "Towanda"...
