Indeed. Even if OP was solely responsible for ALL of Anya's failures, even if OP did the most DISGUSTING THING IMAGINABLE, that STILL wouldn't justify Anya's actions towards OP's son, because OP and her son are two different people. Nobody should have to pay for the actions of someone else. Not to mention that OP did what her sister asked, and then Anya failed to hold up her end of the deal.

Then I had to stop for 2 years because of I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I had to wait for 5 years so I can donate again. I could see my one SIL doing something like this because she dislikes me so much even though she gets along okay with my adult son. You can’t force someone to help but them saying they’ll do it then ghosting you when they’re absolutely needed in a situation like that is deplorable. Their father gave her to much. He should have given her a penny. You can’t give less than that other than making her pay back money. I would have told her job why I told said I forgave her since I truly didn’t. I would also tell them that what she did was the final “nail in our father’s coffin” and the reason why he passed away when he did. He may have lived longer but by being so infuriated by her and donating his blood to save his grandson it was to much for his fragile health. I would say that if you don’t believe me ask the doctor, hospital, staff and family.

It's not her fault that her sister had three failed marriages. The failed marriages are the failures of her sister and the men she was once married to. Also, the sister was wrong for mixing her nonsense with professional matters by taking things personally by attempting to screw over OP'S father in law with her personal nonsense. Where OP'S sister was in the most wrong was for saying she would help her nephew but didn't. She would've been better off backing out before more things unraveled. OP'S late father was/is the hero because he made the sacrifice to help his grandson. I do wonder how bad OP'S sister feels since their father ended up passing away all because the sister pulled her crap? Then again, The Will and Last Testament speaks for itself in awarding inheritance. Sounds like the sister has the personality of a narcissist full of selfish motives.

How selfish can you be? It's not OP's fault Anya had 3 divorces. It's not OP's fault Anya lost her image. And just because Anya had a bad life, doesn't mean she has to make OP feel the same way she does. The world doesn't stop just because you're having a bad day. That's not how life works. If OP wanted her anniversary on that day, that's her decision. Anya didn't have to come, and OP never made fun of Anya's failings. OP just wanted to enjoy her life and never intended to hurt Anya's feelings. The anniversary was never a slap to the face. Anya and her mom were childish for trying to ruin OP and her son's life just because they didn't get what they wanted. They need to learn that the world doesn't revolve around them, and that nobody should have to suffer just because someone else is. An "I'm not happy, so why should everyone else be happy?" mentality is a mindset that nobody should have. Anya got what was coming to her, and hopefully she learns the value of respect and staying out of other people's lives.

That is such ridiculous logic. My parents stopped celebrating their anniversary on the exact day and chose to celebrate the day after for a very legitimate reason. My paternal grandmother’s date of death is also the date of my parents’s 20th wedding anniversary. My family suffered a mass grandparent die-off from August 96’ to Feb. 97’. Shortly after both of my paternal grandparents passed away my father (who was close to both of his parents), as a result of the grief and stress, came down with a life threatening case of pneumonia, got hospitalized and almost died himself. *That* is a legitimate example to not celebrate one’s wedding anniversary on the exact date.
@melissajill61748 ай бұрын
It also sounds like the choice of celebrating the anniversary on another date was up to your parents (the ones actually having the anniversary), and not other people pushing for "celebrate on some other date".
