What's so egregious is that the guy called the police and reported someone in a hoodie who was scaring him. Like, look how small this little girl is!! A grown assed man calling police on a child of color like she was a 6'3" grown man threatening him. What if police had rolled up with guns drawn? Perfect example of people abusing and misusing police services.

A racist cowardly wm called the police on this beautiful and smart black girl. He should be ashamed of himself. The police should have arrested him for filing a false report. As usual they gave the racist cover. The journalists overlooked that too.

Exactly, the neighbor should have been arrested for the racially profiled misuse of police services call he made. Because when the officer got to the scene, he saw, and by the transcribed call, knew what was going on. Wimp guy has his attorney respond for him.

Wow, a very small child, couldn’t be no more than 50 pounds, who looks about 7/8 years young, out looking for insects. I see how he was šoooo afraid, because she looked like a monster. The neighbor is so disgusting, and he’s the one I would be afraid to live by. He definitely racially profiled this small innocent child. If she had blonde hair and blue eyes and the same tiny size, he wouldn’t have called. He’s the type that keeps racism alive and well!! 😢.

I disagree, the officer did not act correctly. He should NOT be speaking to a minor without the minor's parent being present. But, if you are saying that he didn't shoot first because he was in "fear of his life" or used one of the other numerous excuses to justify the killing of an innocent person, and that he actually used discernment in this case, then I agree.

It's not about physical harm to a grown man, its about continued destruction of a people. And it's not all his fault, it's how America was built, how it continues lay its foundation on it, and how America feeds and grows off of it. Hate... in that simple word, there are so many subspecies of the word that it can be found any many different forms. Racism, prejudice, murder, poverty, history (His-story), servitude, education, institutionalization, greed, power, control, fear, anger... I can go on and on. Go outside the walls of America, and exam the viewpoint of many other nations people, you will likely find many of the terms I mentioned and more. The thing is America cannot stand alone, it needs people at the base of its foundation, the soil, the energy... without people America collapse like many other empires. In turn, the term Hate, to be in America must be within the people. To make America Great... nevermind again you must be of a people without hate. And that America has never been, and I fear will never be without. So, the correct term should be, "Strive to Make America Great". You can have that, share, like, and share again until it becomes the norm.

I hate when something like this happens and comments are, "Oh! She is so well spoken and she has manners and doesn't pick her teeth!" The low expectations the white public continue to express when they comment as if it is an abnormality to have black people who are well spoken, educated, and human. Whites are to blame for "Survival English" (Ebonics), for their historical abuse and exploitation of Africans who spoke in their own native tongue quite properly.

To say Bobbi wasn't traumatized by the incident, is dismissive imo. Trauma does not show up right away or manifest itself into someone crying hysterically. Trauma appears when we least expect it. This incident could have stalled her goal of being a scientist. She was born to a mother that stood up for her daughter and I am sure had deep conversations with her daughter about this situation. Throughout our lives, we as black girls and women experience micro aggressions, sometimes passive aggressions on a daily basis. I stopped wearing sun dresses in my area as a teenager after a man, with a child in the back seat solicited me. I was at the bus stop going to college ln a hot day in LA. Recently, an experience getting intimates, I had maybe 3 bras in my hands and the salesperson askwd me if I wanted her to take them until I was done shopping. I gave them to her but nl one else shopping was asked that. And I have a government job. I make sure to look presentable shopping in more affluent areas because I am a black woman. That wasn't taught to me, although my mother did the same, I learned it drom experience...

@@0ChildStar similarly for me. I was around 10 when I rode my bike to where my teacher lived in some apartments. I was at her door as an excited little girl who was her “favorite”/the teacher’s pet. The police was called. He said to me, “go on now, she doesn’t apparently want to see you today”. This incident didn’t stick to me to traumatize me, I don’t think so, but I’ll never forget it. I was a black girl In Alabama in the 70’s and was somewhere I did not “belong”🤷🏾‍♀️. That scenario surely wouldn’t have happened to a little blond hair blue eye girl. Sometimes, It’s these situations multiplied time over time that causes the trauma.

That old man was looking through his window the whole time. “Go get her!” What exactly did he want the officer to do? They are neighbors he’s seen that girl before. A grown woman! Seriously! Naw! He’s a problem, I wouldn’t spit in him if he was on fire. His wife apologized, made him apologize and now he’s the victim. More than flies infest that neighborhood

Fear is real and her neighbor lives in it every day. To be compelled as an adult to call the police, hire an attorney on a little girl is fear of change. He or she could have just asked her what she was doing and her beautiful spirit would have shared. Change is like time a mighty stream it can’t be denied. Good luck mom you have a wonderful daughter that will change the world 🌍

@EW Excellent assessment. Just wonderful words. Change and new truths are difficult to absorb. How sad that a black child minding her own business triggered such an inappropriate, excessive reaction in an adult male. Just SMH! When did people stop talking to each other? Neighbors? People waiting in cashier lines? Folks waiting for the bus? Can we no longer nod our heads and say hello? Can we just be kind to each other? Peace.

No. This clown is not in "fear." That's a tired excuse and an attempt to justify this kind of abhorrent behavior. The idiot they live next to lives in HATRED. He lives in HATRED every day. There is no fear. Fear doesn't cause someone to call the cops on a damn child. That behavior is EMBOLDENED. Nothing about this is fear. This is, as per usual, HATRED. And it must be called out every time and in every situation.

He said there was a black woman who was a threat and likely had a weapon that he was scared of her and needed the police. However he KNEW it was the little girl who lived from across the street and even when the police arrived was pushing them to arrest the girl. Further he's a city council member who purposely tried to weaponize the police against a minor child of his city.

When you keep letting things like this go, it festers. Follow up and have him charged for false accusation or something, then charge him, civilly, for trauma, endangerment and whatever else you can throw in the mix. That would deter him and someone else like him, next time.

The outrageous part of this is the neighbor used words that he knew would cause an immediate response from the police! I hope this mother is not letting this go and brings a lawsuit and demands charges are filed. In all respects and purposes, this was an act of hate. He intentionally made a false report...lying to the police about the description of a CHILD that he most definitely had seen before. It amazes me how some still take on a psuedo-plantation mentality of superiority and entitlement. When charges start being brought against people like him for filing false police reports that are clearly racially motivated, some of this senseless behavior will stop. He put that little girl in a potentially dangerous situation.
