It seems to me that most men and particularly women don’t understand each other nor do they understand what constitutes and characterizes a successful relationship. Not only that, most folks conflate standards with preferences and they hold steadfast to preferences while holding loosely to standards. I also notice that a lot of people that come on here, both men and women, haven’t actually become students of love and historians of themselves and their past relationships. Love is not just an emotion, it’s an act, it’s effortful, it’s the doing and turning towards your partner. You must also understand how you showed up in relationships that contributed to the fact that you’re single now. It’s never entirely just one partners fault - a relationship takes two and both parties bare some responsibility for the demise of the relationship. We are too caught up in preferences mostly physical. The woman in this video was very adamant about the height of her man because she wanted to have a tall son. Again she’s privileging a physical preference over a standard. She says height is a standard but there’s no correlation that I’m aware of between the height of your partner and the kind of person he is. She should be more concerned with the character of her potential partner so that the son she raises is a good man. Again she’s conflating and propping up arbitrary preferences for height. As long as folks have this deeply flawed and misunderstood approach to dating there will not be any success in dating. By successful dating I mean happy and healthy marriage and family. I assume that’s the goal of everyone on this show. It appears to me that the vast majority of people on this show are looking for the wrong things. These are just my observations however and take that as you will. Kendra is a true queen. You can tell by how she carries herself, the questions she asks. She attracted the right man because she became the right woman. I don’t know this for sure but I think it’s safe to assume this. She didn’t settle but she also had the right aim. She brought to the table what she required at the table. The overwhelming majority of people on this show are simply not at Kendra’s level of maturity, sophistication and emotional intelligence.
