I can imagine to go through cancer at that stage has to be draining and you’d probably want to let yourself go or give up. I think the problem people had with that woman was that she was acting like the 20 years didn't change her dating prospects. What she could have attracted 20 years ago are no longer available or are now uninterested. Her requirements and deal breakers further shrunk her prospects with finding a man.
