Ok, parents opening credit cards and taking out loans under their kids name needs to be stopped. Some savy parents open a credit card for their child to benefit the kid and their credit score in the future. But it should be required that the child is made aware and consents to opening each and every account under their name. edit: Well, I've gotten my information wrong. Thanks for the correction! Savy parents should totally add their children as authorized users on their credit cards. Companies that hand out debts should have a system that checks the age of the new account holder and ensures the person opening the account is the same as the person listed as the account holder. They can check that an SSN is valid - how difficult is it to check that the SSN is attached to an adult and not a child?

Hi everyone! I'm Tilley from the video! Thank you all for your support in the comments. It really means a lot to me (and my cat too)! I would like to clarify that David and I are both very aware that putting him in charge of my finances is a risk, especially for financial abuse. I don't think he ever would, but he ensures as much by being very transparent with me about my finances. However, money discussions can be a massive trigger for my PTSD, and I often dissociate while having those talks (which actually happened a bit in the video too), which is why I personally choose not to get too in the weeds about the details of money. That said, I'm continuing working on improving my relationship with money, and I have already implemented Caleb's advice!

I would sell a kidney for my partner to get the mental health help they need. I agree with the comment from someone else that you should go to the courthouse and get married now. I've been watching this channel for almost 3wks. Always avoided looking at financial issues because of how money impacted my parents marriage. I thought about traveling to Houston but just couldnt justify the 2k while in such bad debt. So, I kept watching. This motivated me to fix my life so my son's wouldn't have to care for me the way I cared for my mom, dad, and 2 younger siblings. In this short ammount of time I've been able to hunt down double charges, discrepancies, and audit these ridiculous medical bills that have been killing us. To date 7,300 has been written off our debt just by paying attention. 80k to go! We also put together a plan to clear the remaining debt in 3yrs, rebuild savings, and save for a house/retirement. We can cut that time down when we establish a 2nd income. Financial Peace didn't work for us, nor did it teach us how to handle our debts in collections vs credit cards or student loans. I was literally told to avoid credit cards no matter what... and had no idea how to safely use them or how beneficial they can be to building credit when managed wisely. You've addressed ALL of those in your episodes so I understand what direction to take our financial life. Breaking downthe interest rates and explaining how 11.5% or 25% interest rates are "literally _death!"_ has been far more helpful than us nickling and diming 10-50$ here and there into a low yeild savings account. That's not stability. That's stupid until those predatory debts are slain. Thank you Caleb! You're a blessing to those of us with little or no financial literacy!! 👏👏👏

This is off-topic but as a voice actor, I wanted to say that her voice is lovely! Def would sound great on commercials and audiobooks! EDIT: As someone who’s dealt with inhuman and crazy behaviour from a parent, this audit breaks my heart. She’s a warrior. EDIT 2: As another DID person, Dissociative Identity Disorder can only be formed when an individual goes through repeated traumatic experiences and on a regular basis. DID is extremely draining because trauma also causes the disorder to have physical symptoms, with fatigue being a dominant one. Another notable one is headaches. DID can also be a difficult titan to deal with because with the amnesia gaps, chances are, if “you’re” not in control of your body, your alter may be unaware of your financial situation and may spend it on super random or questionable things (for more chaotic systems). In addition to the trauma BS spending, this can strain your finances. Sorry for the long post.
