At 11:09...one of the main reasons why you don't see too many trashcans in Bangkok is due to past terrorist bombings. During the past political unrest in Thailand, domestic terrorists would leave bombs to explode inside trashcans within the city limits. As a preventative measure, the Thai government took away trashcans, however, when the bombings subsided the trashcans did not come back except for a few that are see-through plastic linings. This is why almost every shopping mall and rail transportation makes you walk through a metal detector, in case you're carrying a pipe bomb. Just Google: Trash bombs in Bangkok.

The reason why we didn't have a lot of trash cans in Thailand. Because several years ago there was a bomb in the trash can then the government got rid of them. Even several years pass there are still less trash cans in Bangkok. 😂
