My favorite Christmas movie. Bill Murray and Bobcat Goldthwait in the same movie? Yes, please. I wish they had worked more together. Frank Cross’ brother was played by Bill Murray’s brother John. He also made an appearance in Ghostbusters 2. Frank’s dad was played by another of Bill’s brothers, Brian Doyle-Murray. Brian has been in many of Bill’s movies. Two other brothers also appear in this film. Karen Allen (Claire) played Marion in the Indiana Jones movies. You recognized the wonderful Carol Kane from Addams Family Values. She also played Miracle Max’s wife in The Princess Bride, and she was in the 70s sitcom Taxi. Bill Murray was told by the director to ad-lib the speech at the end, so he pretty much made it up on the spot.

Don't know if it counts as a movie, but I was always partial to Mickey's Christmas Carol as a kid. That's probably the one for which I have the most fondness.

I always thought the award he left in the cab was done so to show that he didn't care at all about it even though he had just said how important it was to him in his speech. Thanks for the reaction! :)

I already saw several reactors doing this, but I could find no interesting reactions of other movies this week, so I came to Mom. On purpose. You're a refreshing watch because you ARE a mom. Too many reactors just think they have to be funny (they never are) and they yak and yak and yak...right over the dialog. It gets annoying so I don't go back. With you, I can relax and watch you watch sincerely without any jokes or other attempts to be compelling. Mom is a nice, relaxing watch.

Bill Murray tripping on his way out of the restaurant was unplanned and not in the script but Donner liked it so much he left it in. Same with Bill jumping back from the production version of the ghost of Christmas future. He wasn't supposed to clock Alfie Woodard with an elbow but it came out better that he did.

My favorite rendition of A Christmas Carol is Scrooge(1970)with Albert Finney as Ebenezer Scrooge, Alec Guinness the original Obi Wan Kenobi as Marley Scrooge's dead business partner, interesting fact, the only live action version that shows Ebenezer Scrooge in Hell! Oh yeah, and it's a musical!

The award in the cab was a humanitarian award he was given at the banquet. Him leaving it in the cab was to show how fake it was to him and he didn't care about it.

This is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time. Bill Murray's speech at the end was almost completely unscripted and straight from the heart, and it makes me tear up every time. It's an odd movie with creepy music and creepier ghosts mixed with holiday cheer but it somehow just works and unexpectedly hits you with powerful emotion.

A fun movie with ghostbuster Bill Murray against 3 christmas ghosts. Also all of his real life Brothers are in this movie Brian Doyle as his father John Murray as his brother and Joël as a part guest. I wish you and your family a merry christmas.

Fun Christmas movie. Bill is a liiiittle bit over the top in this one, but his character in this is a little bit like his character in Groundhog Day (although I enjoy his character in Groundhog Day, and the film, better). Congrats on the sponsor! Have a Merry Christmas!

I swear Bill Murray has it written into his contract that he has to get the girl. Even when the girl is out of his league...like they usually are. I think it happens the same way Tarantino found Salma Hayek's foot in his mouth.

Oh, another classic. You've gotta check out Fatman. Mel Gibson plays Santa. It's not your normal Christmas movie, but it's awesome. Can't wait for your reaction to Scrooged though

I love this movie. Frank was such an ass, in the beginning, he was telling the audience at the award show how much he would treasure that award, but in fact it meant nothing to him. So many good lines you can't repeat.. like the Toaster.. Thanks Liz.

If you get a chance check out 1941 and The Boondock Saints. The original Boondock Saints, there was a sequel called All Saints Day but the original is much better.

3 of my top 5 Christmas movies are a version of A Christmas Carol. The Muppets are number one, it's just delightful. This one is another one. Bill was simply the only actor who could have pulled this off at the time, just perfect casting. The sequence with Carol Kane as Ghost of Christmas Present never fails to have me in stitches. The third one, in case anyone cares, is the FX version that came out a few years ago. It expands and changes the story in a lot of ways but it's so well done. Highly recommended if you haven't seen it.
