The video and instructions show adjusting the vest to the dog first. Once you like the fit, take the vest off, lay it flat on the floor, and then install the side panels. Works like a charm.

Great video I run a versatile Weim and just bought a Tanglefree flight series vest and it fit terrible. The ponds are getting cold and this looks like the ticket to keep him protected and warm while he's scooping ducks!

Stitching holding the zipper fell apart on morning of opening day while putting the vest on the dog...getting a exchange/replacement through cabelas but not impressed so far

@@sheaquinn2352 haha duke had the same issue, I had the vest too tight. So i loosened it barely and it’s much better. Chest portion is still too wide for a GSP though.

Just got this vest the other day! I really like it and was not hard to setup. The different color panel options is a nice feature too.

do you think a dog will overheat in warmer temps over say...50 degrees doing upland? The replaceable panels would work great because I could use the Optifade in the AM for crane, and then switch to the orange while doing upland hunting. Your thoughts? If not this vest, which would be a good choice for upland in West Texas with the mesquite and catcus?

I’ve been waiting for a vest exactly like this and I hope it works. The browning vest was close but having to remove vest by peeling Velcro. Which then the stitching pulled through the neoprene, I returned for a refund after 3 weeks. I thought to my self the adjustable fit was great if it just had the zipper on top to take on and off. I hope the stitching holds up. My GSP likes to waterfowl hunt and last year in ND after that snow made the water a little chilly. She needs this vest! Thanks for showing this on a actual versatile dog.

Such great looking dogs, you guys do it right! Looks like a decent vest. It's a bit pricey, but if it holds up then it's worth the money. I definitely like the optional replacement panels in orange, white, black, and camo.

@@StandingStoneKennels They seems to be piling into central and eastern Colorado from what I am seeing so far. Problem is, its so dry right now there isnt much food to hold birds for too long.

They sell a bright orange replacement cover, would you use this for upland hunting? Seems like it may be much too warm in most cases...

Yes they do. They also offer black, white, and camo replacement panels.

Way too warm for most upland hunting. I would say 0 degrees before I would consider this for upland.

You just unzip it down the back! So once it’s fitted it’s easy to get on and off.

Pros: Adjustable Cons: Zipper commonly fails after a season or 2 of heavy use, expensive, Made in China. Is there a vest brand Made in USA?

Total crap....zipper failed after using it three times and the plastic started to flake off in the whole center section. Beyond Garbage...Going back to rigemright vest for extreme winter conditions
