3 years is at a higher age range for nursery admission. Many schools admit kids at 2.5 . I stay in the IT hub of india and top schools here are very inclusive and only interview the parents. From kg2 or class 1 however the criteria is stricter owing to fewer seats. So if a school has early learning classes it’s advisable to admit the kids rather than go to a so called “ pre school “ and then face tough competition while getting into upper kg or grade 1 in a regular school. P. S. I have just admitted my 22 months old to playgroup ( pre nursery) in one of the most elite schools here and the interview was a breeze
