Great explanation... You have explained it better than my lecturer.. But in the text book clockwise is always positive and anti is negative

Depends on what you want to take. Both will give same answer. If you consider clockwise positive then your final answer will be 334Nm and if you consider clockwise negative then final answer Wil be - 334Nm. Instead of writing like that, write 334Nm(clockwise)

@@MohamedYusuf09 Its just a notation. Nothing wrong. Some authors take vice versa. If you take clockwise - then also you will get same equation.

@@LakshmiNarayanaV1212 one doubt sir, while solving equilibrium ladder sum, I have seen all haven't considered friction at the top of the ladder to the vertical wall. It's not mentioned in the question that the wall is smooth so I am not able to get correct answer for angle of ladder. Could you help me with that sir please?🙏

@@priyashah9466 Definitely For ladder problems we won’t consider friction when it is mentioned as the wall is smooth or the values like coefficient of friction or angle of friction or angle of repose are not mentioned. If any one parameter related to friction is given then we can consider friction and evaluate parameters related to friction.

It is just a notation... You can take in anyway no problem. If you refer some text books some follow anti clockwise positive and some follow anti clockwise negative. Nothing wrong i will make a video on that

If direction is clockwise then we have to take positive sign but you have done opposite

Depends on what you take as as positive and negative. Signs don't matter. You have to show the direction in final answer only.

No it will have anti clockwise sense. Moment center is above the force and it is at left side. Apply any one of the method that i have mentioned in the problem. So that you can know it is anti clock wise

Yes.. If a force or line of action of force passes through moment center then its moment value is zero. Here 60N force line of action passing through moment center o. For this reason the moment of 60N force becomes zero about the considered moment center o

Yeah it is your choice but in machenics book give us if you use clockwise then use negative sign and use anti then use positive sign.

Because as perpendicular distance increases moment increases. If length is more then moment of force magnitude is more and if length is less then moment of force is less. M=F.d With out increasing the force if we just increase distance then we can have greater value of moment of force.

It is either way. As long as you complement the opposite rotation youll come up in a same answer. Its the same with: (2x + 4y = -32) and (-2x - 4y = 32)

i don't understand why you didn't and the distance together of the 20 N force but you add together the 40 distance force i mean why 40(4+3 cos 30 ) and not 20(4+3 sin 30)

Imagine a windmill at the point where moment is asked. O in this case and consider all the forces as wind. Now 20N at C is a wind and it'd move the windmill counter clockwise. I hope it helped

It’s moment is zero as it’s like of action passes through the considered moment center or simply the perpendicular distance upto moment center is zero. So it’s moment will become zero
