Thank you for your amazing video Benn, I recently did a 22 Km walk to the Ruined Castle and was exhausted! What you did was inspirational 😌

Unreal Benn! Thanks for the inspiration, I'm running the UTA 100km this year (1 week to go). This is getting me pumped! Cheers, Chris

Breaking down the day into those moments was great viewing. God it was a cold day. Flicking through the Kosci start list today for my # and saw your name. All the best and look forward to a possible video after!

Thanks Brett! Glad you enjoyed it. Yep, I'll be braving it on the Kosci start line which will be my first 100k since this one... hopefully the learnings here will provide an improved result (and video) in that race.

@@BennHartung I'm back here viewing again as the lure of UTA intensifies. How did Kosci go for you? Can we expect a video? 😁
@BennHartung Жыл бұрын
@@brettrunsfar Yep, I have my video of Kosci in the works, just got the find the time to finish it off 🙂. I had a great race at Kosci - my best 100K (or almost 100K) race to date. But I still question if that was more due to the fast course rather than improvements to my racing / fuelling strategy. So I really want to see UTA being back on the normal course this year so I can put it to the test! Hope you had a good race at Kosci!
@brettrunsfar Жыл бұрын
@@BennHartung I will keep an eye out! I have the same feelings about Kosci and coincidentally will also go back to UTA hoping for a near-normal course!

As an Ultra trail runner the journey is always lonely on the trails ! my only issue is not letting my thoughts run off into oblivion.

Nice recap Benn. I makes you wonder why we do this to ourselves? For me, I think that one day I'm going to get the training, race strategy, and nutrition right and the race will happen no lows and recovery will be the same as a standard long run. I don't know whether this will ever happen, but at the moment at least I can try about once a year (to run 100km+) to see if I have learnt anything and to see how close to ideal it is.

Thanks Jeff... And yes, I have to agree that it is that elusive (so far for me) dream of one day having that 100K race where everything clicks! Each race until then is a building block with some extra learnings getting you that step closer, but still packing a lot of pain.

Yeah really good video mate. Far out that was a cold race. Death marching that last 10km stays in your dna forever i recon. Finish line, mandatory inspection, coke, car, lights out 😂. You back for 22 or 23?
@BennHartung2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Peter! Yep the "death march" is quite the life changing experience... not sure if for good or bad. :-). Skipped UTA this year as the new date didn't work for me, but current plan is go back next year for redemption!
