I’d like to add on to the berserk point Tekking mentioned. For me, it hurt so much worse when she seemed ok and back to normal. She gets a coop new sword, thanks everyone for watching out for her, and all seems well. But then she looks at Guts. That panel of Guts looking like a devil and bringing back Casca’s trauma was a real punch in the gut. Of course she wasn’t fully healed, cause that’s not how trauma works; it can’t be magically erased, no matter how much we want it to be. Guts and Casca are still two broken souls

One of the strongest emotions I've felt was Law just saying "Damn it!" when he thought he was going to die by Doflamingo. He fought tooth and nail against Doflamingo, putting everything he had into this battle only for it to end armless, flat on his back, bleeding and in pain with Doflamingo looming over about to crush everything. Everything he ever was, everything he has ever done, everyone that has ever leaned him. There was simply nothing left. The only thing he could do even to hope to express this was "Damn it!". Absolute failure. Everything, reduced to dirt under Doflamingo's feet. Literally and figuratively.

Also it was kinda funny when luffy stopped him and doffy was like whyd you stop me from crushing his head
@r4nd0mguy993 ай бұрын
In retrospective, I wonder why the fuck Law didn't use awakenings against him. He basically just used 20 % of his move pool. You can't tell me that Law only awakened his devil fruit AFTER the fight. At this point, we kind of know how devil fruits can get awakened. The op op fruit is especially famous for how well-suited it is for doctors and Law has plenty of medical knowledge. Also: Using the silent room against Doflamingo would've been the ultimate middle finger.

One thing I'd like to mention about the Meruem and Komugi's final Gungi game that makes it probably my favorite scene in anime or manga is the actual game of Gungi itself, Komugi's Kokoriko technique, and the allegory of the actual moves in the final game as it pertains to Komugi's Kokoriko technique. Komugi invents the technique which is normally used to isolate the King (an allegory for Meruem) and as she continues to play vs Meruem, she develops counters for it. As she plays with Meruem, the counters get more advanced and the moves in the final game reflect their whole story replaying itself within Komugi's Kokoriko counters until they pass away with the two king pieces in hand 1-5-1 Black King 9-5-1. Each movie is a step in their story and there are a few good written breakdowns of it you'll come across ever so often. In my opinion, this insane level of detail, much like the Greed Island cards, or the spiraling webs of politics in Succession, is what makes Togashi a special writer and why I'll wait as long as it takes for new HxH chapters. Also, one thing that really affected me in One Piece was the combination of the Ohara flashback immediately followed by Sogeking shooting down the flag with the Straw Hats on the rooftop. That's something in One Piece's best flashbacks does especially well, the moment after the flashback where we come back to the current events of the manga where the heroes do something that gives you that sense of euphoria or hope after a very depressing or infuriating flashback. Like, stopping Doflamingo's boot, or Kuma's punch, some of my other favorites.

For me when I was a kid, My Neighbor Totoro got me so emotional when the girls heard about their mom because that brought on the aspect of their mom’s sickness and the realization she could die. Speculated that her illness was from tuberculosis based off of the timeframe the movie takes place in. That’s a tough one for me because I had a cousin who I was very close to die from tuberculosis. The Casca coffin bit I can get it as to why she sees herself that way. As someone who’s gone through PTSD and assault trauma, it’s hard to look at yourself the same way. In lots of cases, you see yourself (your original self) as being broken and almost unable to be repaired. To me, that’s what the porcelain doll represents.

Guts takes the Flower and buries it in a field with other flowers, as up to this point the plant was by itself in a prison cell. I had an almost IDENTICAL reaction to Berserk as you, last year, @tekking101 ! BUT, 100 Chapters before the end of Berserk, I cried and SCREAMED in tears of joy - when Skeleton Knight told us Casca is destined to be returned. The only time I broke down. Before that, I had to take a couple of week long breaks from emotional distress. Farnese carrying Casca'a doll didn't break me, but I gasped there, scared. Berserk gave nightmares, but then Skeleton Knight told me "It's gonna be alright, little bro." I knew what chapter Miura died, and that Berserk was unfinished, but that was the best ending I could have imagined in the last light of my right eye. Thanks for this amazing video, @Tekking101

I have noticed that whenever people are discussing or reviewing berserk, the atmosphere just gets cloudy and abit dark and the person discussing it suddenly has a way more serious tone thats how good berserk is.

Man hearing you talk about that scene in Berserk, when I watched the series a decade ago and have never read the manga, that actually made me tear up. What a masterpiece of a manga. I've been emotional in a LOT of anime scenes (I"m a very emotional person lol and I cry a lot) but the one that I remember most clearly and that speaks to me the strongest, is actually Gin's death/flashback in Bleach. Bleach was the first anime I watched as a teen and I was super invested, I'd had emotional moments already with Ulquiorra's death and other scenes etc, and Gin was absolutely my favourite character. But when I first watched that scene and there was just that beautiful little flashback, it's barely a few minutes, where you see child Gin realising that Aizen was the big bad man who hurt the girl he loved, and made the vow to get revenge, and ultiamtely sacrificed his own happiness and died in the attempt, it absolutely BROKE me. I didn't cry. I just stared at the screen for a solid 20 minutes in complete silence, just thinking about it. I genuinely couldn't really function. It's such a beautiful, heartbreaking story and so incredibly and masterfully done. And when you hear him give his internal monologue/poem in the dub, like wow it just hits so incredibly hard. I've never been hit so hard by a moment in anime before. The only ones that comes close are maybe Law's flashback in One Piece, and by extension Doffy's, because both are just horrible. It's just insane how such a small scene for a side character can hit so hard and I've genuinely never recovered since lol.

Your reaction to the berserk was how I felt after I first read the red wedding in GOT.. the starks were my favorite characters and I had no idea this was coming. Had to reread the whole chapter again to make sure I didn’t read something wrong

[Marineford] my reaction was actually getting viscerally upset and gear 2 posing.. it was a very emotional moment for me [Magi] there's a scene about what it means to be alive, with a sickly little girl and a clone that has only been alive for a few months/years..

I've read and watched everything you've talked about and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days on the DS is still the most emotional I've ever gotten with a story. You don't even need to play the rest of the series its such a good standalone story.

A moment that still gets me is during Yu Yu Hakusho when Kuwabara is trying with all his might to summon the Dimension Sword while Yusuke is getting beaten to death by Sensui. Chris Sabat's performance is probably one of the most raw you'll hear as he desperately wants to help his friend but can't and knows if he doesn't do something Yusuke will die. And when he finally pulls it off and the music is swelling as he roars in defiance to finally attack, it is insane.

When I was a kid, Bionicle was my big thing. In 2008 there was a huge plot twist that changed the lore of the entire series and everything I knew about the world I had invested so much in. I was excited to the point I remember reading the books and getting to the end of one to see the twist, and I got chills as well as the feeling like my soul exited my body. Unfortunately the series got canceled 2 years later. Ashvampire has an excellent video summarizing everything.

One moment(s) that really got to me is what happened to Euphemia li Britannia in Code Geass. Naturally while I already consider Code Geass to be a magnificent work of art, that particular moment was enough for me to avoid rewatching this masterpiece for +10 years and when I (as an adult this time) finally decided to rewatch it I found myself having to emotionally prepare myself for that scenery despite already knowing what is about to come. It's amazing how fiction is able to ingrain lasting impacts within a consumer.

Frieren's first episode. Somehow I didn't knew anything about these people yet I felt really emotional about the end of their journey as well as Himmel's death. Then you review the entire series and come back and it's even better.

That feeling when reading Beserk is one the reasons it’s a top 5 manga of all time, Muira had a way of conveying such broken people so eloquently and so tragically, the amount of times I’d have to put the manga down to just absorb what I just read is near countless, my only hope is that beserk can at least have a satisfying (wether sad or happy ) ending

Weirdly enough during one piece dnd the end story of Cyril going and finding himself by fighting his puppet to the little flashback with his mom to then the determination to go find Pearl was so good cause since you met Cyril and you knew of the feelings he had for Pearl but Rustage always left it up in the air with her and just how he felt around the rest of the crew to going and seeming like he was just a side character then having a major turning point until ultimately after the Blake fight it just felt so rewarding and I stoped the episode and just sat and cried for like a good minute
