Well the book "Deadly reunion" tells us that the Master and the Doctor had a band in their school. It was a the Delgado Master and the Hartnell Doctor and some others.

Flux had some epic highs and low lows but don't all the Doctor Who sagas? The Key to Time, The Black Guardian Trilogy, The E Space Trilogy, none of them were consistent. Even long form stories like The Dalek Masterplan or War Games, they both lost the plot about half way in. Those last two benefit from excellent final episodes that make everyone forgive and forget the bad stuff - Flux doesn't have that luxury, unfortunately. I'm not a fan of Jodie Whittaker's Doctor ("it was the writing, not the actor," unquote... well, it was both, for me), but Flux was probably the highpoint of her era. That, and Power of the Doctor, natch

It fell out of grace even before that. It all came down to "The doctor is a mega chosen one who just makes everyone in the universe poop themselves just hearing their name" bullshit instead of "Ooh a little shop. I'd like a little shop." Some of the best episodes are just stuff like Nightmare in Silver, or the ones with the Master taking over earth, or basically most of Tennant's run and the early of Matt's run - the doctor isn't a god, he's just a nigh-ageless turbo nerd who figures a way out of any pickle.
