As a Naruto Dub lover that scene alone is worth rewatching the series for me. I love the switch from Michael Yurchak to Neil Kaplan. It was so sudden my twelve-year-old mind was blown on first viewing. Naruto is honestly one of the few anime where the voice acting can still blow me away. Even after seven rewatches (of the entire series).

Madara is very proud and power hungry so he screams back to kabuto to not think that he’s this strong because he tweaked him a bit. Making it known to kabuto that madara has always been a powerhouse with or without the power boost. Madara also later stated that the fight with the 1st was to take his cells and implant them in him to obtain greater power (like the rinnegan) so it’s also a way of foreshadowing that he’s had hashirama’s strength with him, but kabuto allowed him now to use his jutsus. Idk if that cleared up any confusion.

I'm half Japanese, half English. I'm bilingual and can speak both languages and I watch anime in Japanese. I personally think that the Japanese voices will always be better as they are the original but the English one was surprisingly good ❤️❤️ Edit: this is just my personal opinion btw. Original does not mean better although it does tend to capture the intent better so is preferred by fans. Sometimes because the idioms don't translate or lip movements need to be accounted for or for some other reason they change a bit and it is just better in the translation. Example DBZ Majin Boo Arc "Vegetta falls" in JP, in EN "Death of a prince" the English version def rolls off the tongue and just sounds better. In fairness though it is possible that in sometimes the original language has a kind of poetry that just does not translate. Also puns, Japanese seem to love puns but they just don't translate well even to closely related languages much less those that are very diffrent. The limits of being monolingual I suppose.

I'm half Japanese and half Puerto Rican I speak neither language. But I've always watched my anime in it's original language. I am someone who will watch something over and over so I can catch what I missed the first 1 or 2 times. I'm old though and when I bought anime it was on vhs tapes usually imported to the comic store at my local mall. There wasn't really anime on tv then unless it was something like Robotech, voltron or g force but those were dubbed and there wasn't streaming at that time or internet really i guess lol.., so all I had was my tapes so it was easy to watch them over snd over again. Like Evangelion I had to watch many timed and I still don't know if I understand thr series completely lol.

As someone who only speaks English, as long as the voice acting is good, I'll admit that I'd prefer dubs over subs only for the fact that it helps with immersion. When voice acted correctly, there are some lines that will just hit harder when paired with proper intonation and voice fluctuation. It's subtle diction. Sometimes, it sucks to be reading a screen and not be able to fully involve my mind in what is happening in the show, and I'm a fantastic reader. I kinda wish Crunchyroll still had an option for subtitles even on dubs, though, cause I do miss things sometimes. Sometimes, I just can't have the TV that loud.

I agree madaras English voice actor and pains voice actor just had some cold as lines like especially pains speech and when he say all mighty push and the village just gets demolished cold, I was a dub guy until I caught up to the 4th ninja war arc then from that point on it was just straight sub for me and I never went back lol

IMO there are few moments where the sub Madara was better than dub I just find dub more menacing but the sub voice actor is 10x better at jutsu names I forgot the jutsu he was using I think it was great fireball but when he said katon I got chills
