hi sir. please explain how for question 3.2 VF's direction is east? is it cause we chose east as positive and the final answer was positive so therefore its east?

Yes👌 we took east as positive and since the final was positive it means it's going East!!

M confused on how u got the -6 plis explain
@kevinmathscience2 жыл бұрын
The collision is the part on the graph which is diagonal. The horizontal lines are the initial and final. So they tell us the graph is for P. So before the diagonal line, the velocity is positive 10 as seen on graph. After the diagonal line (so after the crash), the velocity is now -6 as seen on graph. So the final velocity of P would be -6. Hope that helps :)

Hey Kevin I want to ask About this question 3.3 why are you saying Ek initial is bigger system?

its an inelastic collison, so the joules are lost in Ek final, so the Ek inital is the bigger system

i think that the the graphs intervals is in 2’s , 5 lines = 10 (each line is 2units) , so when you’re counting from the bottom it’s 3 lines x 2 . which is -6

Hi Sir, why do we say EKfinal = EKinitial - 28,8 is it an elastic collision?
@VuyolwethuKhaba9 ай бұрын
It is not but for us to get equal magnitudes of the kinetic energy the initial kinetic energy must be decrease by 28,8
@alexandermeyer84046 ай бұрын
we dont yet know what either Ek will be yet, but because the final Ek is 28.8J less (decreased) then it means that the final Ek is what ever the initial Ek was -28.8. so no, elastic would mean that Ekfinal is the same as Ekinitial
