Originally took the pert and only scored a 108, watched this video and it bumped me up to a 139! I was then granted the opportunity to take the CLM test and scored a 53 on that. These videos helped me shave off 2 extra math classes, which saves me valuable time and money. I can't thank you enough for this!

Thank youuuuuuu! This video helped so much! I took the test yesterday and failed with a 107, and decided to retake it today getting a 118! The passing score is a 114. This is all because of the help this video gave me! Anyone about to take the PERT when you watch the video This is what helped me: 1) Solve each question shown in the video. Pause the video to solve each question. Solve the question before she shows you how to do it. This allows you to see what you need help with and where your mistake is. 2) Watch how the mathematician solves the problem, and then compare it to yours. See what steps they took that you may have skipped or messed up with. Then solve the question with the teacher in the video, and you can repeat aloud the process and steps. It can help with remembering. 3) Then keep on solving the problem without the videos help. If the question is hard and your struggling don't be afraid to go back to review that step you missed or you're stuck on. Then just keep on solving the question until you get it right. On your own. 4) When you get the question right, go search up different questions - For example: I struggle with factoring. When I got the question in the video right with no assistance, I then went to go practice on other factoring questions. 5) I searched up factoring in KZbin and there were many videos to help me. I picked a video and then solved the questions the video provided with the video. I also paused the video just to make sure I could solve it before the mathematician did. I wanted to see if our answers matched and they were. 6) I also chewed gum during studying. It helped me stay focused. I suggest before any studying to get yourself in a calm environment. Take a bath, put comfy clothes, music (I don't really like to listen to music when I study certain topics though), and maybe even a candle. It never helps to study when you're upset or annoyed. In my case I have siblings so this really applied to me. 7) Get some rest. This is really important! 8) In the morning of the test eat a good breakfast! I had oatmeal and a bowl of fruit. 9) I chewed on gum(MINT) during the test too and I really think that helped. If anything and you're allowed bring mints. There are studies that it helps focus, and I remember being given mints when I was younger with then FSA. 10) Make sure to take a few breaks and start the studying a week before the test. It is possible to study the day before the test, because I did that, but it's really important to not stress yourself out and go at your own pace. Good luck everyone! I know you can do it! Listen! Passing the pert was my last graduation requirement I’ve never been good at math. Like EVER. Like D’s and F’s 😭 I studied this video watched it so many times and listening to on my way to take the pert I was so nervous I needed a 97 to graduate and I got a 106! Thank you so much!!! @Leah Cooper hey ! i definitely can say the part where your attention may not be all there is the reading and writing portion- i failed the reading by 1 point the first time so i would definently go online and practice reading passages and answering questions and there’s also grammar on it. for the math it’s basically algebra 1 so just looking up pert math practice on youtube with 2 hr long videos help. and write out the problems in a notebook so you can study up!

Im 43 years old and going back to school. I need a math class for my AS but I couldnt take it because my SAT and ACT scores are so out of date. I could have taken 2 lower math classes first as prereq's, but I didnt want to have to pay to take 2 extra classes. I was always good at math but its been so long I couldnt remember everything. This guide helped me remember all the bit and pieces I needed and I scored the 123 I needed to get into the class I require without having to take any of the lower classes. Thank you!

@Leah Cooper I took the test over 2 years ago so I honestly don’t rlly remember what it was all about. It was mainly about solving algebraic equations and you’ll know if your doing good based on the questions. If the questions seem to be getting harder you’re doing good but if the questions get easier that’s not a good sign. This video helped me pass the test so I would definitely recommend watching this and doing the practice problems and watching similar videos and doing the same. Good luck!

I'm glad I watched this for a refresher on little important things like anything raised to the zero power is one. When I did all this in my mind, I was thinking it was Zero. I have not taken a placement test in years as I am 36 going back to college, but I remember that I thought that when I took the placement test at age 18. So THANK YOU!

Hey im taking the PERT next week, are these the kind of questions on the test and if so is the difficulty like this or is it much more complicated and i have watch other videos outside of this one.

OMG, I passed the pert, I legit didn't know anything before watching this, after I watched this I understood so much more. This was my first time taking the pert and I passed with a very high math score and high writing!

I took it today after watching this last night. I've previously taken it three times all with a score of 98. This time I got a 102. I need a 114 to pass. I know where I went wrong so I'm going to study those particular questions and take it again in a week! Thank you Mometrix!

Ok so I’ve taken the pert twice the first time i got a 91 then i took it again and i got a 87. I need a 97 to pass. I took the test twice before i found this video. I’m confident i will pass because this has helped a lot but sometimes what you study isn’t always on the test so if anyone knows any other videos or anything that will help i would appreciate it. Literally this pert test is the last thing keeping me from graduating. I’m scared but after reading everyone’s reviews and they say this helped I’m a little more confident. So thank you ❤️

I haven’t been in school in over 16 years. I have my CDA (qualified to teach VPK) always wanted to go back to get my degree. So I foolishly signed up for my local state college without even realizing I’ll have to take this test. I have my P.E.R.T. test scheduled for next week but I’m going to reschedule it for another week because this semi made some sense to me honestly. Maybe with a little extra time to study since I found this video I’ll at least get a 115. Will update in a few weeks…wish me luck!!

I didn’t do well in math which I knew I wouldn’t it’s always been my struggle area. I did great with the reading and writing portion. I’m going to re test in a few weeks for math.

How many questions right you have to get to get a 97

@@koliki9853 The pert is scored out of 150, and the lowest score you can get is a 50. 97/150 is roughly 64%, There are 30 questions on the math section, so 64% of 30 is about 20. So you need to get 20 or 21 questions right to be passing.

Took the pert, no practice and scored a 99. Failed the reading section by one point…..I needed a 106 and got a 105. Passed the writing with a 121 when u only need a 103. Proud but have to retake all 3. Hope this helps me pass the math .
