many of these comments are the reason why kids are never believed and the reason why I consider part of humanity as it is made of hypocrites and weak, shallow sheeps looking for heroes and gods. I was abused by my mom in a similar way and I don't have a career too. Of course, I've been destroyed in my childhood. And people still believes my mother was a great woman. Of course they were not assisting to the violence. Moreover, what really makes me sick is reading people judging.

Many of Joan's friends have come out in later years confirming that they witnessed instances of abuse described by Christina, including Joan's mother.Joan learned from her mistakes and later on when she adopted Cathy and Cynthia Joan was much more understanding and sympathetic as a mother.There is a learning curve involved in parenting for many people.I don't think it's fair to call Christina a "flat out liar".Those are strong words and require strong evidence in order to be taken seriously

I have NO doubt in my mind this woman was super on point, has a soul, smart, educated truthful and just...I'm done. :/ Polar opposite of Joan which is why she tormented her. Totally consistent in every interview w/ her demeanor, tone, vibe etc etc... I can sniff out a b-shit artist in 2 seconds (like Bette Davis daughter). Yes you had the awful stroke at 42 but even you're dealing w/ health issues 'now' (dunno) you're almost 78 and outlived that demonic c*nt of a woman. You rock and love you Christina!

Truth notwithstanding, to call her legendary is absurd. Her sisters refuted her claims, as did many others. The reason she doesn't like what Mommie Dearest turned out to be, is because it was as fictional as at least 40% of her own book. The film also made people adore Crawford all the more, and a newer generation look into her films. Christina has backtracked many of her stories in recent years. That cigarette lighter story is VILE, by the way, and it would be good to hear from those people who were allegedly there. The wildly over the top rose garden story was untrue. Crawford had a little victory garden at the time. Christina was also (ADMITTEDLY) never hit with a wire hanger and in FACT, handed out decorated wire hangers to a pack of drag queens and a Joan Crawford look-alike contest in recent years. Crawford's other 2 daughters adored her and she them. Christina wanted to be beautiful. She wanted to be famous and admired. She simply could not --and did not --achieve that. Joan was well aware of the book by 1976 and that Christina was obviously not going to collaborate with her, thus indicating an ugly book. Therefore she was left nothing. Joan (perhaps mistakenly) felt Christopher must have been involved and disinherited him as well. Christina is also nowhere near as kind as she is in this video as many can attest. Joan was no saint and she would be the first to admit that. But no mothers really are. Bringing up a difficult and profoundly ungrateful child is not easy.

My question is how did Christina lose control over the movie rights to the book...which she must have unless she was dumb enough just to sign them away. Did she sell them lock stock and barrel for the money leaving her no say in the production? If so, she really cannot complain too much about the way it turned out. At the same time good for her telling the story in the first place and dedicating her life to this cause. All that said, the movie IS classic entertainment and always will be.

I doubt whether money was the instigating force that got her to write the book in the first place. It amazes me how this book has been panned by folks who have more sympathy for a child abuser, may be because once a Hollywood star, than the broken, hurt and tormented inner child that lurks within Christina. Perhaps the deniers should wave a flag for Harvey Weinstein and say all the women who point their fingers at his abuse are also phonies. Hollywood has always been a child abusing, woman abusing town. The recent rumours of paedos and the casting couch have some truth. In those days it was all covered up. Child abuse did not exist!!! I am sure there were many stars similar to Joan who abused their children and drove them crazy.

That's right, Elvis kicked Christina Crawford out of his house for being rude and snobby to at least one guest. She was also a tyrant during a play in NYC, while she was still dating her first husband. She got away with it and went through 3 directors simply because her boyfriend was a big-time producer back then. Hopefully she's grown up since then and is no longer a spoiled brat.

Exactly. Because it portrays TRUTH. I bet Christina started threatening to ruin her mom's image from her early teens. I don't think Joan ever trusted and cared for Christina the same ever again. Joan was a smart woman who knew people and what they were capable of. She was always one step ahead of Christina thus the reason she gave for disinheriting them. They knew for reasons they were well aware of yet they would never say they knew the reason. She knew but was to ashamed to say I tried to black mail my mom in a tell all book. Her first bad interview of Joan was when she was 21. I can hear her now telling mommie I could have said a lot more but whose to say I won't in the future. This is the sole reason she was disinherited .
@lovesangels1
@lovesangels1 7 жыл бұрын
Christina Crawford was left out of the will by Joan so she wrote a book for financial gain. I believe that it was Christina who in part drove Joan to alcoholism. She was a rebellious child, difficult, and unnaturally envious from a very early age. Joan was a strict disciplinarian as described by her other children who strongly disagree with Christina saying Joan was warm, and loving . Also we are living in an age where if you even scold a child it is frowned upon, and called abuse. Lets pretend that Christina is not the liar that she is, and was in fact abused, then all her actions would suggest is that she is the most unforgiving, lacking any human compassion or genuine warmth, blood thirsty, and money hungry. How do you make a fortune out of someone you hate, and still hate them with such unyielding, and unending vicious wrath. This is what love, and human tenderness would look like..."my mother was abusive, as a grown up I have considered her struggles emotionally, psychologically, and in the work place. I would like to think I understand, and chose to forgive, and love those things which were good rather then to have hate that consumes me for my parent." Christina C. Proves through her every action exactly what kind of witch she really is. A total psychopath.

Give me a break. Bette Davis told Larry King in 1988 that Christina was broke living in a motel and that Joan left her nothing because she knew about the book two years before she died.
