I think I’ve made my decision based on the comparisons that you did (pumping parts, suction, battery life, etc.) Thank you for helping this soon to be mama to her first baby girl!! Great video! I have been waiting for a Willow 3.0 vs Elvie comparison and so far you are the only person I know with this video out. Thank you for all the details. Because I got the elvie for a much less expensive price (vs Willow) I will most likely keep it. You are right - unfortunately pumps work differently for everyone. Thank you for all your hard work and research! I plan to EP for my next child as that’s what worked best with my first. 💙 For any other mamas out there - I was able to get the Elvie for $360 at buybuybaby a couple weeks ago - the double pump was on sale for $425 then I had an additional 15% off registry completion coupon.

I’m waiting to order because I have an appointment with the lactation specialist and I’m going to ask her to help me decide on the flange size. M E I have the Elvie right now. And I'm so disappointed in how easily it spills. It's honestly so frustrating especially since you wear it under your shirt and then you see your milk coming through and you have a giant WET SPOT. You have to be so careful to A- not move to much or to quickly ' and B - to put it together properly. You have to put the bottom piece on FIRST and then the plate that goes against your breast otherwise it will leak like CRAZY. It seems the rubber doesn't connect properly by doing plate first. But either way. You don't have as much movement freedom as you would expect. I had the Ameda Maya already which was amazing because it was wireless. So I could charge it and go. I just have to wear the pump bra and a cover if I'm around people in the house. Yes the tubes suck but the Ameda Maya is cheaper and spills less. AND rechargeable. They now make the Ameda Maya mayo which is a cheaper version because it takes batteries. So if you're going to spend this type of money go for the willow. For sure. And look for reusable bags for sale on Facebook marketplace.

Been researching breast pumps for over a year now and really wanted the Elvie. But I had wiped it from my list of options because of all the problems women have been having (auctions and leaks.) Ok so before watching this video, i went with the elvie for some reason, i guess bc it seemed to be more popular on youtube amongst vloggers. I did not like it as there were just too many parts and i always had a hard time getting the suction right, so i’d barely get much milk. And yes i did try different flange sizes. So i borrowed my sister’s willow, and I like it much much better. Less annoying parts to clean and assemble, and the suctioning works perfect for me. Both pumps require some effort to put on, but the willow was just much simpler for me. Also, my output was much more with willow. I have also heard the elvie can’t be used as your primary pump as it affected some people’s supply, whereas the willow can be used as a primary pump and is actually targeted for more output. I also know someone who used the willow to exclusively pump, and she said her supply increased. Also, the bags are actually quite convenient as you can just freeze it right away!

This is such a great video and goes into so much detail! It is hard to get a good idea of the similarities and differences just by looking at them online and even reading about other people's experiences. Since everyone responds differently to different pumps, it is hard to know what to consider as a pro or con with each pump. I think I would go with the Elvie when I eventually decide to purchase one. DO NOT BUY THE WILLOW PUMP UNLESS...you are ok with spending $.50 per bag because the containers absolutely do not work! I bought two sets because the first set went haywire on me, and started saying I was pumping 4 oz in three minutes, which of course I wasn't. Then, the second set started doing the same thing. Now I have a set that don't work at all! I have low milk supply so spending $.50 for one oz of milk is absolutely not worth it. I regret buying this, and I recommend you REALLY consider all this before spending thousands of dollars on this, because you will! You've been warned.

Elvie seems like the best choice. Willow seems like they’re out to make a buck with how many extras you’re required to purchase if you want to just use it! That’s so frustrating! I’ve been looking into a wireless pump for when baby #2 comes because I’ll have a toddler and pumping last time was so miserable because I couldn’t do anything else while I had these bottles sticking off my body and was attached to the wall. Not to mention how much room all the supplies take up if you want to travel with a regular pump. The willow seems like nothing but a hassle and a pain in my wallet.

I am due in July with my 3rd baby, so I haven’t technically used it yet but when I received it, I wanted to know how the suction felt and it is soooo comfortable compared to the other Medela pumps I have used before. The generation 3.0 is suppose to be a lot gentler than the previous 2 models. I also walked on the treadmill and did a little workout and they felt super secure and did not move at all. Let me tell ya though...they make you look like Dolly Parton so if I am wearing them in public, I am definitely going to wear a scarf or nursing cover. Hopefully this helps a little!

-I had the Willow post my 2nd baby in 2020. Im a nurse and busy, so the Willow was very convenient though I looked like Dolly Parton (love you lady but it just wasnt for me), the Willow is heavier as well. It was working fine and I got the hang of fitting it correctly, the app was great, etc. I used it daily as my baby had been a NICU baby and didn't take to breastfeeding. After only 3 months, it would incorrectly error and read air as milk pumped. It was bizarre! I got help from the Willow company, it was issues like soaking the parts in vinegar bath etc, I tried it all but in the end had to buy more containers and flipped between the reusuable containers and bags. I ended up getting frustrated and stopped pumping altogether l, I was so tired. It was so great while it lasted and I did my insurance to cover the entire cost. I think this time, I may get the Elvie to try. Willow had good suction with adjusts for suction but sometimes I felt like it didn't completely empty versus the corded Medela hospital grade pump I used sometimes. I'm hoping that perhaps the Elvie being gentler will be more relaxing for me thereby I may be able to empty better...I think I was stressed and the Willow pump is constantly suction versus the more natural pull motion of the Elvie. Thank you for your reviews, I trust them and watched them extensively before I tried Willow last time. This time I'll try Elvie and see.

Has Willow seriously not figured out how to charge both simultaneously for a $500 pricepoint?! At least throw in an extra charger until they correct this, Jesus that's so unacceptable.

Thank you so much this is so helpful! I used the Spectra with my first born and although it worked well, it had so many parts and was so restricting due to all of the tubes and cables. I am really hoping to find more success with my second baby (on the way!) by using one of these hands free pumps! Really appreciate all of your insight!

The Elvie made me have clogged ducts because it doesn't drain the breasts as well as the medela. It's ok for on the go, but not exclusive pumping.

Willow has fixed the stimulation mode problem with this version. It will go off at the 2 min mark for those that don’t hit the .5. You may consider revising your video to include the correct information.

Thanks so much for this video! It was definitely helpful! I am leaning towards the Elvie but I would like the option to use it in every position for my night feeding. Please let me know if you found a hack for the Elvie? Bc versatility is my main concern.

Can you pump only using the Elvie? I’ve seen people say that they use a wall plug in pump at home and the elvie for on the go. If I only use my Elvie will it reduce my supply? I’ve seen people say that also.

Thank you for the information. I like that you exclusively pump. I would rather take advice from someone who uses these products regularly. I would love to try it but I just can't find the $500 for the elvie. Is it even reasonable to just buy one?

I would love your advice on what one you would prefer. My insurance covers both partially and they both would cost $365. What one did you find yourself using more? What app did you like more? Thanks

Wow, thanks for the great comparison but could you do a video on the cleaning time of both products and which one is more hygienic base on the parts and set up?

Thank you @mommysharkuncensored for creating this great informative video. I have only tried the Medela PISA and would LOVE to try one of these this time around. They both seems awesome, but if they were priced the same, it seems the new Willow might have a slight edge?

This video was really helpful thank you so much. I wonder if you know if these two pumps work for inverted or flat nipple? If yes, which one works better? I would really appreciated your or any mama’s response. Thanks :)
