I'm a huge sucker for good teachers in shows, and Aizawa vs momo and todoroki is always one of my favorite parts because he always teaches them in the best way possible. It shows that even though he can be strict at teams, he knows exactly what each and every student needs at any given time.

I think you misunderstood momo quirk a little. She can create anything from her skin, so aizawa cloth holding her would not benefit her. She doesn't turn her clothes into stuff, its her body fat.

yeah, but at this point in the show it hasn't been explained that it's from her body fat specifically, so it's completely normal to not know how it works exactly!

@@Kaiscoolness It hasn't really been explained well, it's shown here and there, but if you're not paying attention all the time it's normal to miss that detail. Sometimes her clothes rip and disintegrate so I can see how someone could mistake the clothes turning into some parts of what she creates. All I was trying to do was say that it's fine that she missed that and that she will get it in due time as I can see a comment thread like this spiraling into something toxic. I guess in that aspect my previous comment didn't do a good job. Anyway the part where they explain all of this including the fat is not that far away now. Once they do I'm sure it will click for her as well. If anything she might see that episode before even reading this comment :D

Honetly seeing froppy do so well to the point where they say she has no clear weaknesses just goes to show how generally good animal based quirks are in my hero, there's a character in the later seasons who also has an animal based quirk and seeing them really makes me excited for how good froppy would be at her full potential

Honestly I don't really like it. Considering Momo's self-esteem got hurt a lot lately, it would have been better if she'd earn that win all of her own. Especially considering that her only mistake was just to miss the rope on the catapult; something that really didn't need to be included in the scene to begin with. I dunno, considering she's like the smartest one in the class, with what is probably the most versatile superpower in the class too, she should get a few wins of her own once in a while. And this episode should have been one of those.

Fun fact for this episode -Ectoplasm is actually one of the heroes on top of the "looks like a villain" list. He is the Math teacher and he also lost both of his legs during hero work. Making him a baby material for you.

I knew you were going to enjoy this episode for Momo's evolution. Momo just needed that confidence boost, but when it comes to plans, she can be as good as Deku. I also like that we see a little more attention that Aizawa (Eraserhead) pays to his students. He may seem rather harsh with them, but like at the festival or again here, he cares about them and trusts them. He is the father of class A-1. And since we're talking about romance with Uraraka and Deku at the end, another ship is shown here, Shoto and Momo.

I adore momo’s little arc. Like, the most obvious comparison in terms of character design is Quiet from MGSV (or any other of a number of “no it’s not weird that she’s naked, that’s how her power works” horny models). Why this works and that doesn’t is that she feels like a real person. She’s the smartest in the class, but socially inexperienced and tackling massive self worth issues. She has nearly infinite potential but can’t get out of her own way. There’s easily ten things about her character that come to mind before we get to her outfit, as gratuitous as it is. I also love the reveal of who voted for her for rep. I think it’s the first time of something seeded very very early on paying off unexpectedly, which is a trick Horikoshi uses a lot going forward. “Hey remember this throwaway line from a year ago? WELL HERE IS THE PLOT MOTHERFUCKER GAAAAAAH.” Also also love on this (tenth?) rewatch for me, todoroki is being nerfed from jump. I never noticed that before. Stain fully calls him out correctly as not having much beyond the raw power of his quirk, which aizawa repeats when making the plan, which is on full display as he makes a real dumb plan that accounts for no one but himself.

Leapfrog! No I'm not apologizing. Froppy can't level a building, fly on sustained explosions, shatter the sky with a punch, tank gunfire, drop a kinetic bombardment on your head, etc, but her ability set combined with a level head makes it hard for her to not be useful at something. Though by that same token, clones, even if not of someone who can shatter concrete, are quite versatile and always helpful. Nasty niche for the win. Mr. Power Loader mainly teaches Support Course, but he's still not to be trifled with. The man wears an exosuit. I don't know if they said, but I think he's in charge of maintaining all the robots UA has for training. SPIN TO WIN! We know.. We can be pedantic about certain things though, and Crimson does need to be distinct. Iida would be at an unacceptable disadvantage if this was an actual fight. He left himself on a silver platter to send his partner to get help. Poor Momo. Yes, he is a ninja. And a good one. She does not manipulate her clothes. She extrudes objects from her skin using her body's stores of lipids as fuel. Though she has to understand the molecular composition, so most people would be WAY slower with her quirk. When Momo has time to plan, and a clear head, she can make magic happen. She may not be as good as Deku at improvising tactics, but it could be a coin toss who's the better strategist. I play some shooters, but LOS is more of a limiter in how many targets I can hit as opposed what can hit me in my current preferred one. Momo wouldn't be able to use her quirk half as well if she didn't grasp material science. Teacher: respecting. Confidence: Restored. Grade: Passed. Aizawa didn't hand her the win, he just left her an opening. Oh, Twinkly.... you are really proving why you're an idiot. Though you picked up on her crush sooner than the class so..... half a point in your favor, glitter brain.

Love how in matter of teaching we have this shadowy dude being the best teacher in the entire academy vs this sparkly giant N1 hero... Wich the only reason why he hasn't been denounced is because he's N1 hero(I mean, he literally has blatant favoritism with one student and he even calls him to his office alone in the regular, honestly he's a walking lawsuit in general).

As a teacher he is definitely not good, but his No1 hero knowlege and just his presence, just him being there, I think it's really good for the students. Almost like a mascot... Although maybe the principal is the mascot?? I don't know...

I disagree, all might is far from a bad teacher, yes he favours one student, but he doesn't ignore others either. He knows a lot about them as shown at the end of the festival when along to the top 3

After the exercise (Iida and Bakugo VS Uraraka and Midoriya) All might noticed and understood how Bakugo felt, but... If Deku wouldn't have said what he said to Bakugo, I don't think All might coul've... Well, you get the point. Maybe he gets better at being a teacher later on, since what he lacks the most now is experience(experience at teaching... and he has no talent for it)...

I just had a disturbing thought... considering how often Froppy grabs things with her tongue... do you think it'll one day look like Stain's tongue? I mean, sure she doesn't lick blood, but instead with her "grabbing" all kinds of objects and people, wouldn't that make even more and a wider variety of nasty things come in contact with her tongue than ever Stain's? I think you misunderstood Momo's quirk. She can not change any existing object. Her quirk creates entirely new objects, while using up calories. So no, she has no way of changing Aizawa's binding cloth in any way. I wonder if she can create liquids, since we've only ever seen her create solid objects. I think overall it's probably been good for Momo to go through this low and come back up again. Before the festival, she was confident in spite of not having any accomplishments to speak of other than good grades, which could easily lead to overconfidence if not curbed. Now after having her confidence dashed and regained, she has probably a far better grasp and far more stable temperament than before.
