The fact that this songs talks about laughing and smiling, and that it came out right after that big earthquake in Japan is really wholesome. The kinda of vibes you need after that.

That interpretation is not a mistake in a big sense. "Nippon Egao Hyakkei" is a cheering song that says, "Let's laugh and overcome even if there are difficulties." However, since this song was created as the ending song of the animation "Joshiraku", it has never been defined as a cheering song for the reconstruction of the "Great East Japan Earthquake". The songs released to encourage people after the Great East Japan Earthquake are "MOMOCLO no Nippon Bansai" and "Z Densetsu owarinaki kakumei". These two songs were recorded in the 1st album "Battle and Romance" and released in July 2011. "Nippon Egao Hyakkei" was announced in July 2012, a year later. "MOMOCLO no Nippon Banzai!" And "Nippon Egao Hyakkei" both have "Nippon" in the song title. For this reason, I presume that someone who misunderstood mixed the information of the two songs and disseminated it. I've seen people from overseas write similar content before. In the live after the earthquake, another song "Mirai e Susume!" Was often sung. This song is a song that says, "Everyone can support each other and overcome any difficulties." MOMOCLO no Nippon Banzai! kzbin.info/www/bejne/h6TSe4ybnKerb7c ※「Nippon Banzai」=「Good luck! Good luck! Good luck! Tohoku! We love Fukushima's peaches! We love Yamagata's cherries! We love Miyagi's beef tongue! We love Akitakomachi! Aomori apples are great! We love Iwate's fishes! Please don't give up! Have hope! ※The Tohoku region is an area that was severely damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake. ※"Akita komachi" is the name of rice made in Akita prefecture. MOMOCLO no Reiwa Nippon Banzai! kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJqrhpaBbNihq80 ※"Reiwa" is the current Japanese era name. ※They have been singing this new version since they became a group of four. The lyrics have also been changed to match the current situation. Z DENSETSU OWARINAKI KAKUMEI kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXS1nX6agtODgqs ※「OWARINAKI KAKUMEI」=「Endless revolution」 Z DENSETSU Fanfare wa tomaranai kzbin.info/www/bejne/eomop52Zp72pmJo ※They have been singing this new version since they became a group of four. The lyrics have also been changed to match the current situation. MOMOIRO CLOVER/MIRAI E SUSUME! kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4C7Yahso9hmkNU ※「MIRAI E SUSUME」=「Let's look straight ahead and move forward together toward the future.」 ※When this song was released, it was a 6-member group and the group name did not have "Z" at the end.
Having this be 99% practical stage effects really gives you an appreciation for Japanese Theater.

Hi, this is NOT japanese theator. Everything here was produced in a studio, you can also notice they have neither mics fitted (unlike japanese theatres), and the color lighting as such is clearly impossible in said environment.

I just love how this song shows and tells all of us that there is always a reason to laugh , smile, and dance no matter what. Especially the fact that this was made after the Great East Japan Earthquake is so wholesome because stressful people especially the people who overcame that definitely needs this to cheer us up with jokes , puns, and stories like in this music video. It’s so awesome, fun, and kind from them to do that for us with this music video. (Also, who else is here in January 2025?)
