Like other ARMYs said in the comments, Spring Day is about missing someone really dear to you. I highly recommend you guys to check out the music video, it's really beautiful, and it was a tribute for the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. ​@@Momjo The music video is incredibly beautiful, but you may find the explanation that links Spring Day to the Sewol Ferry Tragedy a bit too triggering, especially as Moms. The Sewol Ferry Tragedy was South Korea's worst maritime disaster, caused by corruption, gross negligence and a horrific disregard for human life, especially the lives of children. Over 300 school students died after being told to remain seated while the crew abandoned ship, personally I found it deeply distressing to watch. If you think watching a deeply distressing video isn't going to be good for your mental health, or just isn't what you need right now, then give it a miss. While the music video makes multiple subtle references to The Sewol Ferry Tragedy, the lyrics tell a more generalized story of loneliness, isolation, grief, friendship and hope. The music video also makes multiple references to suicide (and death in general), this is an aspect of Spring Day that is often forgotten by people who have been heavily influenced by the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. South Korea has one of the highest rates of suicide in the world, and every single member of BTS has been impacted by it in multiple ways, losing friends, school mates, colleagues or considering it themselves. So Spring Day is also about losing a loved one to suicide, and dealing with that grief, Spring Day manages to express not just the sadness of grief, but also the anger of it in the lyrics, which isn't easy to do. Suga's verse has been revealed to be about the breakdown of friendship between him and one of his closest childhood friends, and has nothing to do with the Sewol Ferry Tragedy or suicide. It may be better to form your own opinions, and relate to Spring Day on a personal level, rather than watch an explanation video which is most likely going to significantly and negatively impact your mood and may also stop you being able to relate to the lyrics on a personal level. Last song is Spring Day. This song literally a comfort song to people who lost their loved ones. This song dedicated special to victim's family of Sewol Ferry tragedy. "Bogo sip deuh" mean i miss you. The first part of this song is the most chilled me. Speaking about the concept and meaning behind "Spring Day" during a V Live broadcast, RM stated that he wrote the lyrics when thinking of his middle and high-school mates, from whom he hadn't heard in a long time. Lyrically, the song uses a seasonal metaphor to compare the longing and separation from loved ones to "internal winter." The verses use "snow-y Imagery" to explore themes of loss, yearning, grief, and moving on: "I wanna hold your hand/ And go to the other side of the earth/ Wanna put an end this winter/ How much do I have to long for you like snow piles up on the ground/ Until the spring days come?" The line, "Like a snowpiercer, I was left alone" is a reference to Bong Joon-Ho's movie (2013), while "I hate even this moment that is passing by" is a line used to suggest the "ephemerality" of life. The track's lyrics also speak of "a mature society that can embrace the wounds of others," and they touch upon themes of mental health and depression. During the chorus, the line "I want to see you" is repeated several times. Towards the end of the song, the band relay comfort and warmth to the listener by being hopeful of a reunion: "No darkness, no season/ Can last forever."

Love the enthusiasm. “Dohgoepsheepda”means I wish to see you again. Spring Day, I believe was inspired by the real life tragedy (in South Korea not too long ago) where hundreds of high school students on a field trip was in a ferry boat accident, drowned needlessly because the captain and crew had instructed them to stay put while they themselves left; the cowardly captain and crew ended up going to jail, life sentence, etc. You need to watch the MV; it’s beautiful like the song and I believe it has English subtitles.

BTS has been cheering up so many people in quarantine. So glad to see you enjoyed their Tiny Desk concert too! ❤️ I don’t really want to depart from this cheerful mood, but I feel I have to point this out if we want to further appreciate the depth and genius of BTS. There’s a pretty good reason why Spring Day (released 2017) is highly acclaimed, called “the Queen” and has never left the Korean charts. If you’re ready to dive deeper (and maybe get emotional), the music video is full of symbolism, and there are videos explaining the meaning of the lyrics and the imagery in the MV. Aside from what was already mentioned in the comments, BTS recently confirmed that this song also is linked to an event (likely referring to the Sewol Ferry tragedy which happened on a spring day in 2014). Suicide is also another theme introduced in the opening scene of the music video, while South Korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world. Of course, as with any piece of art, the song’s meaning is open to interpretation by anyone who listens to it. Bogoshipda means “I miss you” or wanting to see someone, and while this longing is part of our humanity, it’s especially true and heightened because of the pandemic. This also takes on another meaning when you are grieving or have lost your child/friend to injustice. Learning more about the ferry incident was heartbreaking to say the least, and the literature/art references in the song and music video point to underlying themes and issues in this unfortunate event. The meanings and messages are concealed in symbolism not just because it’s tasteful art, but also perhaps because those who have spoken about the tragedy got blacklisted by the government at that time. So I feel you hit the nail on the head when you said this song is like an “anthem”, “melancholic but hopeful”. Big Hit Entertainment’s slogan is “music and artist for healing,” and this song exactly does that. It has healed and is continuing to heal so many people, one of the likely reasons why it’s still in the charts, and in so many people’s hearts.

Spring Day is a heartbreaking song for all Koreans... We never forget the ferry incident happened in 2013 when Korea was governed by irresponsible president who was impeached by her own people in 2017. Survivors from the incident are often saying they miss their friends so much.

You should watch the making of video after watching. It’s great. Spring Day has never left the Korean charts since it came out in 2016. They call it the queen. Spring day lyrics and music video holds so much depth that it cannot be explained in 2-3 words. Please react to the official video and the explanation by Italian Army. You might need to pause a lot during the explanation video since there’s a lot to take in. But we don’t mind you doing that because we love anyone who tries to understand and as mothers I really feel that you will be able to understand the emotions better. However, The explanation video is an explanation of the music video, not the song! the song can be interpreted in 100 different ways and it means however it speaks to you, there’s no right or wrong interpretation! In fact Spring Day is a sad song...there is an explained video about it, it was made after the Sewol Ferry sank with many students that were going on a school trip and lots of people died. If you watch the original music video and then the explained version you will understand how beautiful and sad this song is . It was a disaster for the Korean people and this song was made in honor of the victims, it was in the charts of South Korea for a long time so it is a very meaninful song for them and their people. He and SUGA wrote it about their friendship. There’s a lot to digest with the song “Spring Day”. My interpretation of it is that BTS are comparing emotion pain to a harsh winter. That pain could be the death and loved one, a break up, or a tough situation overall. They’re singing about the hope that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. At some point, winter always turns to spring.

Love thia reaction guys💜. The second song "save me " is a poppy/ edm vibe. U guys were right wen u thought it was gonna get hyped up😂 but since the performance was live they had to rearrange the song to fit the band😁. This is one of my very first music video of the band that got me wanting to listen to their discography cause i really like the 'one take shot' of the video. I was like 'wow these guys are good what else do they have' Their third song 'Spring day" was what really got me to loving the band. The music video has such a deep meaning to it that I came to realize BTS was not just the typical Boyband. This song has a special place with south koreans that since its release in 2017 it hasnt left the charts. If u can, please react to SPRING DAY MEANING/ SEWOL TRAGEDY by Bulletproof vibe. Only thing I would say is please don't speak over the video/performance and pause if you wanna say something so you don't miss anything thats going on. I get that you might not want to make it too pause-y or make your video too long but it would be great if you can find a balance so you dont accidently talk over parts of what you're reacting to. Also in spring day "bogo shipda" means I miss you/I want to see you! Spring Day is such a beautiful song with an amazing message I would definitely recommend checking out the music video with the subtitles so you can read the lyrics.

Suga wrote this when his friend passed away. Bogosipta is I miss you. The song came out and then there was a ferry disaster that killed more than 200 high school students. Koreans associate this song with the tragedy because the survivors missed their dead friends and asked people not to forget them.
