That is one thing a lot of parents who are fans love about BTS is the fact that their lyrics are not like artists in the U.S, it's not about money, sex, and drugs. Their lyrics are must deeper, that's why their fandom is huge because their lyrics are for everyone. Plus parents don't have to wonder about their kids listening to them.

I know that there's a lot of ARMY here who already told you that this song is for the ARMY and yeah, that's true. But I would like to give u some other points. 1. This song is talking about the boys who are already world wide and known by everyone. 2. There's a lyrics said "Come be my teacher, teaching everything 'bout you, your one your two" So basically this song is in an album called "persona" which inspired by a book called Map of the soul by Jung. Talking about one person have a lot of persona (The you when you meet your family and the you when you meet your boss / teacher are different right?) and BTS realise that. That's why they want ARMY to tell them their ARMY self and their real self. 3. "I'm flying high in the sky with the icarus's wings that you gave me back then. Now it's so high up here, I want you tuned in to my eyes" So for almost 4 years BTS use icarus as the symbol of them and the wings means greedy and ignorant and the icarus's father is the one who gave him the wings and in BTS version the ARMY is the one who gave them the wings. But when they are already THIS high they think once again. The one who they want to reach is not the popularity but the people around them a.k.a ARMY P.s : tbh there's a lot of theory in this music video, such as the film called singing in the rain, the "love" in the last scene, etc. But the point is luv in this video means ARMY. Not many army know this but this is a love song to army. In the song's background their is poster of a movie. I forget the the name but the story was about a famous singer and her voice was amazing but behind the curtain another person was singing not her and she was the real star. So bts are saying that behind the scene army is the people who made everything possible and that army is the real well...star. And the lyrics "listen my baby, now I am flying so high ( with the wings you gave me) I want to turn my eyes to you" I think that was the lyrics sorry I forget some of it😭 but they are saying they want to spend more time with army and have fun with us like concerts, interviews, more content. If you see the "Making of" video or the live performances with her you can see what a great relationship they have. Here is your something Darker option. FAKE LOVE OR BLACK SWAN OR BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS Please watch Fake Love lyrics are deep and apply to loving yourself or loving someone else. Not necessarily a breakup song like some have misinterpreted based on American Style Pop. The boys as deep and intriguing. Been listening to them since they first cam on the scene. Thanks for this great reaction! Fellow mom here and a Quarantine ARMY (became an ARMY during quarantine). You should know that most (not all) BTS songs that are about love are directed to ARMY and are very often gender-neutral. This song specifically, in my opinion, is one of those songs that is mainly a BTS love letter to their fans. But even so, there is always more to the lyrics than meets the eye and the music videos are often loaded with allusions and symbolism that (thankfully) somebody smarter than me (and I have a graduate degree in literature) unpacks in an explained video. For something darker, as others have said, you should watch "Black Swan" and "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" ... both the MVs and the live performances (the recent Jimmy Fallon live performance of BS would be a good choice, but start with the MV to understand the lyrics). Both songs are masterpieces in my opinion--lyrically, visually, musically, and conceptually. Do watch the explained video for "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" (here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6XPmHSLepusoMk) and prepare to be blown away by the complexity and richness of the story-telling. Having lived through New Kids on the Block and the many iterations of "boy band" that came after, I promise you that BTS are definitely something else altogether, they really are artists and they've provided so many people with solace, happiness, and inspiration (myself included) that calling them a boy band really feels like a disservice to them at this point. "This is BTS: Introduction to BTS" by xCeleste is a great starting point to find out more if you're interested, and then "Who is BTS? The Seven Members of Bangran" by Suga & Spice to find out more about the members. Enjoy the journey!

Part of kpop is the mixture of english and korean. Sometimes it's almost 50/50 and other times there is very minimal english, it just depends. I read somewhere that it was Halsey's request to not appear much in the video as she wanted the focus to be more on BTS and since BTS would have to perform it without her, but like someone else mentioned on the official audio of Boy With Luv you hear more of Halsey's vocals. If you want something a little darker I would recommend Black Swan, Fake Love, or Blood, Sweat and Tears. Thanks for reacting.

It hasn't left the SK music charts since it came out in 2017. There is also a really good video that explains the symbolism and meaning if Spring Day. While BTS hasn't explicitly stated this, many people see it as a tribute to the Sewol Ferry disaster.
