I'm from monaghan and carrickmacross lace was setup by a lovely lady Mrs Porter from my own parish of Donaghmoyne her husband was a rev Porter, Mr & Mrs Porter was on honeymoon. In French then Mrs Porter took home some laces to teach the young ladies at that time

and not a bit about Clones probably the most historic town in Co. Monaghan... well worth a visit is Clones.

My 4th GGrest Grandparenrs were from Monaghan and Cavan from the Dpeeingtona and McCaetneys. 1827 will be 200 years in 2027(3 years ine future).
