This is a game changer, remember unmanned marine vehicles are picking up momentum as well, you're engines have the ability to fill the gaps where others have failed. Looking forward to flying my next UAS with this engine.

That may have been true 4 years ago, but now every major turbine manufacturer is likely involved in some way with a hybrid propulsion proposal.

The only thing that’s holding this technology for taking of is the noise. Make this 5 fold quieter and you have changed the whole industry.

Great development for the UAV application. I'd love to see this even smaller (in the range of 2-3 kW) for its use in sUAVs.

The multi fuel aspect of a turbine is worth mentioning along with the potential to use bio fuels.

I own a 2018 Hybrid Pacifica w/ 16kw 🔋 (33miles). I drive about 100 miles daily so looking to extend my range & this may be the solution instead of adding batteries. I'm in Atlanta & I have the funds so let's make it work, anything is possible these days. 👍

No, a gas turbine engine is not efficient enough and not clean enough for an automotive application... even in a hybrid system.

Gearing the turbine output down by a factor of 16:1 - requiring a multi-stage reduction gearing system - to connect it to an electric motor-generator is nuts... especially to use an Emrax motor designed specifically for low-speed (direct propeller drive) applications. The turbine-generator set should use an electric machine operating at turbine speed, for simplicity, reliability, and lower weight. But, as they say - UAV Turbines expertise is not in electric machines.

Efficiency is claimed as a feature at 1:28. What is the efficiency - or Brake Specific Fuel Consumption - of this turbine engine, compared (for instance) to piston engines of the same output power? Without actual data, this is a meaningless claim.
