Hey Daniel, They are pretty good. I'll be doing a video on the Stop-2-Go 25cm clock soon. It's App controlled and adjusts and corrects its time from your phone. It also adjusts automatically for daylight saving time (summer time). Andrew

I love my Mondaine. As a copywriter and designer, I appreciate the purity of clear design. I've just ordered a "Classic Pure" without the "SBB / MONDAINE etc" text on the dial, but I'm a bit disappointed (and curious) about the "SWISS MADE" text remaining at the bottom. I can understand the pride, but why not 100% purity?

Really interesting interview. thanks for doing. I found it interesting that the Mondaine spokesman spent an enormous amount of time defending their backlighting strategy with their desire to stay pure to the original black hands, but then at the end of the video, he talks about introducing a new version of the watch that has white hands on black dial. What? Does he realize that this new version blows holes in his own previous design position?

By way of explanation, what Andres Poy was trying to say was that because luminous coatings are white-ish in colour, they couldn't put this coating on the front side of the black hands. This would make the black hands appear white (using the luminous coatings). Whilst the train station clocks are all black hands/white dial, Mondaine has been making the reverse of this (white hands on black dial) for quite sometime. I hope that explains the philosophy behind putting the luminous coating on the back side of the hands.

I am a wrist watch collector of 46 pieces... I purchased a Mondaine stop2go watch 8 months ago. The stop2go function quit once and the machine inside the watch got replaced under warranty... Three months after this, stop2go function quit again...and they replaced the machine of the watch AGAIN, to fix the problem... I got the watch as fixed two weeks ago and wearing it, no problems so far..I have 13 months of warranty left, we'll see if this will repeat itself... Regarding overall quality of Mondaine, I am disappointed...

See my reply to Primecreator. We have been replacing movements for older Stop 2 Go's at no charge if the experienced these failures even if they were no longer under warranty.We did this recently for a customer of ours who didn't even buy his watch from us. It was a know problem in the original release and as far as we can tell there are no significant failure issues with the newest movements. There is a possibility that your watch was an older series even if bought recently.

@NETVO TV thanks for your question. The "traditional" Mondaine watch is a replica of the Swiss Railways Clock. That is, the clock that is used currently, and since 1944, in all the Swiss railway stations. Since this clock uses the same face as the Swiss Railways Clock it does not have numerals, it only has indices as the time markers. Mondaine makes a different series of watches called the "Helvetica" range named after the Helvetica font (typeface). It comes in three versions, Light, Regular and Bold. Only the Regular has numbering 1 to 12 in the Helvetica Font. The versions only have minimal numbering like 12, 3, 6 and 9. I like the look of the watches but I read a review on ablogtowatch for the stop2go. The review was okay but the comments by owners were very disappointing. Seems from their perspective the quality and reliability of the Mondaie (stop2go) was appalling. Seems strange for a swiss manufacturer.

The Stop2Go has been out for about 5-6 years now. The first two years of production (first two series) had some issues with resetting. We never sold those watches. We came to Stop2Go late in the piece. From year 3 (third series) these problems were ironed out. Consequently, our warranty and return rate for Stop2Go (series 3 onwards) is no different to any other watch. Series 3 is current and has no obvious faults.
