The Benchmade can be carried as a neck knife,boot knife,or belt knife. I carry the Cold Steel Double Agent for a neck knife. I removed the pinky hole though. It is lighter and feels better in hand now.

Izula either front pocket or horizontal on the belt. If not leaving town, sometimes ESEE4 in a kydex dangler from Grizzly Outdoors.

I normally edc a fixed blade kabar markXIII in the smaller 4 inch size. I just bought the benchmade 178 dagger today I hope I like it

I carry a strider Slcc XL (9.8in oal) centerline iwb on a tether. The choil rides on the belt with the handle out side the belt. Works very well. I've been carrying a fixed blade edc for 7-8 years and the Slcc xl and for a smaller knife the tops felony stop are some of the best options IMHO

Where I live in Connecticut double-edged knives or daggers are prohibited for carry .. my favorite is the CONDOR KICKBACK .. lightweight not too long so doesn't jab you in the ribs or stomach when you bend over... Much less expensive than the esse .$23 .. carbon steel with traction coating.. my second favorite is the CRKT hult .. but the Bowie shaped blade instead of the worncliff .. I also occasionally carry the sog instinct and mini instinct...

Cool video. I carry the S.P.E.W. and also the Triumph from CRKT. I carry folders as well. Usually it's a kershaw folder in pocket with triumph in my waste band with a secret carry method that just does not feel like it's there. Thanks again!

I live in Arizona with no blade restrictions whatsoever, so my EDC is a Gerber Mark 2, and in my boot I keep a plain edge Cold Steel Pro Guard.

I edc several different fixed blades. Most customs I prefer to always have a neck knife and if I am going out for dirt time a belt knife as well. As for great non custome knives I carry a blackjack 155 or a coldsteel pendleton lite hunter. A fixed blade is always handy. :-)

Great topic for discussion. I carry the SOCP dagger on my EDC backpack as well as the BM rescue hook -7 in addition to my Dpx Gear HEST. I have these in various locations in or on my EDC backpack. So it's still considered EDC I guess But no fixed blades on me, just folders.

Good video, I would love to carry a fixed blade but currently I have a folder. The fixed blade stays in my EDC Bag. Currently that's a KA-Bar in my 5.11 MOAB 10. Seriously considering a neck knife as an EDC fixed blade, but retention is always a concern.

I am partial to my Cold steel Brave Heart in pocket, other options are the newer/shorter version of a sgian dubh they offer the Secret Edge, Mini Tac Skinner, ESEE Izula for pocket carry or CRKT Dragon on belt in small of back if wearing a jacket with a long enough in the back.

I've always hated fixed blades because they have never felt comfortable as a belt knife, and I run into a paradoxial problem with neck knives. (Don't want something stronger than my neck, around my neck. But also don't want something that will break away, because I don't want to lose my knife). However I recently started carrying my TDI (small blade, plain edge) on belt because I got a really nice sheath for it from NSR Tactical. So it carries icepick draw, left hand, appendix. Horizontal aligned sheath.

My EDC right now is an ESEE Izula. It is a Great Knife for EDC. BUT I am not Happy with just one. I am curious about the TOPS Desert Son. I am looking at adding that to my Collection. Is the TOPS Desert Son a Good choice for EDC ???

I edc a Gerber Ghostryke, scout carry on my belt. Sometimes i switch it up for a schf 66 which i can hook on my belt and stuff into my pocket.

I like a shorty for the bush, and I won a drawing I forgot about that I entered a while ago, then I recieved a e-mail and I was pleasantly surprised that I won a Mini Scandi Knife, it's awesome, it lays flat on my chest and very comfortable, and it's a full tang fix blade, very sharp and a very nice looking knife. Usually I pouch carry a pocket knife, but this M.S.K. is great as an E.D.C . But in the bush I like a longer handle and a short blade, the belly has to be just right for carving, that's why I had my Skookum Bush Tool shartened, not much since it is a 4 1/4" blade to begin with, mine is just shy of 4" and it depends how I measure it, sometimes I can get a 4"+ measurement, but it's still one of my Fav's, I love it in 3V it's a great one. I also have (2) BK-14's one in each color of the after market slabs, orange and black, it's because of the two set of slab's I have two BK-14's but no regrets another good knife and a good E.D.C. neck and bush carry knife. Although I like longer handles and that's mostly what I look for in that size knife, my Brownimg Independence Fix blade is a good example of what I like. I also got a Bark River Woodland Special to complete a set of Bark River Knives, but I don't care for how it feels in my hand, I wear large gloves but that slight bird beak doesn't feel right, but in its limited use it is a good quality. When I got my first two Swamp Rat Knives, I needed a short blade, it was a toss up between the Rodent Solution and the Rodent 3, I went with the Solution the handle was perfect the blade just a tich too thick and I sometimes wished it was a little thinner, but what a tank, and I still use it alot especially for making tinder and it work's great around the camp. So to complete my set of Swamp Rat Knives it was down to the Rodent 3 and Rodent 5, since I had the others and not liking a tactical looking knife for the bush, I had my Rodent 6 thinned down and the top gaurd taken off it came out perfect for me, so since my first knife was the Ratmandu and I already had the Rodent Solution I felt they would be too redundant with the knives I already had, but I pulled the trigger, call me luvky, since the time I bought the Rodent 5 it's already sold out, had I waited longer, I might of missed out all together on getting the Rodent 5, WoW, anyhow when I got the Rodent 3 I couldn't wait to fondle it, it surprised me alot, first if all, the nice full robust handle on this shorty fit like a glove, the bump on the Lightning Bolt Style Handle was in the right place and filled my hand as if it was custom made for me, but my friends say the same thing with theirs when I mentioned that, it has a nice belly to carve with it another perc for the knife, I actually like it better then my Solution (well that depends too) and I wear large size gloves, I also had it thinned down, not too much and I left it up to them, the Rodent 5 with the flat handles but the Lightning Bolt Handles it's extremely comfortable, my other lightning bolt handles have palm swells this one does not but it's extremely comfortable, that extra 1/4" makes a big difference too, when I compared the two it look's beefier and already with the short lived use, there's no redundancies between that and the Ratmandu, but that Rodent 3 is awesome, I don't have any doubt it will be my Fav. shorty.

Double-edged Karambit and/or a pikal alongside my Ka-Bar USMC short and either a Fox 479 Karamabit or a Spyderco Civvy/w Emerson Opener is what I'm all about. I love the Wharrencliffes, though (I got a CRKT Dragon as well). I can't recommend the huge array of Pikal style weapons out there, the Boker Pikal Silk (Slick?), you have other various PIkals (tacticalshit.com), made form s35v steel I think, the H1 steel hawkbills Spyderco offers can't be beat imo.

First I do not edc a fixed blade, but when I have to I would prefer Brous Blades Silent Soldier because of the durability, design and the small size and I would wear it on my belt... love this new Monday Knife Disscusions ;) p.s.: Today I buy a Benchmade 470-131 Emissary Gold Class any field reports? ^^ ...and one more question, any plans to expand your delivery range to europe in the (near) future. At the moment, when we see an awsome blade and want to have it, we have to go on Amazon, but most of the time they don't have it or much much later than you guys =/ also your pricing is great!

I have two BK-14's the reason being is I wanted the a slab handle and they came in two a orange color and a black slab so I had to get another BK-14 heh heh heh, no regrets I like the 1095 CroVan Steel and the slab handles add another demension to the knives a nice neck carry knife too, but it also is a good knife in the bush, even though I carry a bigger knife too those stabbed BK'S get a good workout in the bush and a great E.D.C. neck carry, another neck carry E.D.C. carry knife I like to carry is my Mini Scandi made by Top's, but most of the time I just carry my vintage Western and Camillus pocket knives in sheaths.

We Germans have really harsh laws about knife carrying, you can’t carry a one hand folder at all, they are illegal to carry. OTF style of Knifes are totally illegal, prohibited and you can’t even have one for youself at home, same with shurikens, or any weapons not resemble one in the first place, like sword canes and so on. But I can strap around my hip 20 concealed fixed blades if all stay under 12cm and had one sharpe blade only. For that reason I just carry fix blades in Germany. I can reach my benchmade dagger 2-3 times faster than I would be able to open any one hand folder.... but if the rules are like that, just carry a SOCP blade and a bushcraft knife under 12 cm and your fine...

I heard problems with the SOCP Dagger which I really want. the CRKT Folts is somthing I'd love (I got the Dragon), my favorite personal blade is the Tops Backbite and Street Scalpel. the CRKT Spew is fantastic and how can you not love an Izula? I would like to say I think Busse needs an INFI Wharrencliffe out there and James Coogler carbon-fiber hexweave karambits are the premeire deadly shit out there. But somehow that $100 Tops Backbite seems like the best, most unique design out of 'em all. cannot recommen dit highly enough to those who enjoy the Wharrencliffe design, who like the Spyderco P'kal, Maxvenom Pikal, any P'kal/Karambit and Wharrencliffe...get the Tops Backbite. If you are a Hannibal Cannibal muthafucka, get the Street Scalpel, sneak up behind someone and be like "hello!" and slit their throat and bring the meat to me, the delicious guts will make a shake.
