hi rachel, i am probably a bit late for the question of the day suggestion but here it is. it's been almost a year since i moved to a different country and although i made some friends i am still stuggling to find "my people". My problem is that whenever i find events/local gigs i wanna go to i talk myself out of going bc i have social anxiety bc i feel like everyone will know eachother and i will feel like i am intruding/i am not suppose to be there. do you have any tips on feeling more comfortable in places you havent been to before and around people you dont know? Lots of love xx

I can relate to your situation a lot. You have to understand that cities even smaller cities are big, you just have to keep in mind that most people are feeling the same thing you are feeling. Everyone wants to find their people just like you. If you are in a big city it's impossible for everyone to know everyone, another thing to keep in mind is a lot of people usually bring a friend they are comfortable with to social things. Just take a deep breath before you go up to someone and introduce yourself, I know easier said than done but even if you feel like you embrassed yourself they probably aren't thinking about it. What's the worst that could happen? I know when moving some where new it's hard to find a crowd but it won't come to you, you have to go get it yourself. You got this girl! Your stronger than you think and your braver than you think. (hate to be cheesy but it's really true) p.s. sorry if this is all scatterbrained, but I had a lot on my mind about this and then it just all jumbled together
