Hey Ry. I have a question for you about the 180 degree shutter rule. Is this something you absolutely abide by or do you make exceptions?
@ofilantvanderplas9 жыл бұрын
You can make exceptions, but then it's really important to establish the environment of the scene.
@CraigBickerstaff9 жыл бұрын
Ludeman Productions For future reference there is a massive difference between the 180 degree rule also known as crossing the line and a 180 degree shutter, there is no such thing as a 180 degree shutter rule.
@paulocone19639 жыл бұрын
Ludeman Productions You can make exceptions to go for a certain effect. Ryan's talked before on this show about how you can raise the shutter speed to make the footage feel more jerky.

Awesome episode as always. Question for you: Have you guys ever thought of building the community even further by utilizing something you already have? Like your website? Adding a forum where us filmmakers can connect with one another, interact with you guys at film riot, get feedback and have a central hub where this tight-knit community can interact even more? Just a thought. I would love to see something like that. There truly aren't many highly active and fun filmmaking communities out there right now.

I consider myself semi-pro videographer (filmmaker is a tall order) and through my work I get more requests but the pay is sooooo poor compared to my work as a freelance IT consultant in Identity Management that I only pick up those jobs that I creatively love or are a challenge. I would not live under a bridge to make films, not when I could own that bridge doing IT consulting which is (and I mean this) far less hardwork and far less stressful.

Love your guy's show. So informative and entertaining at the same time but i must say something that i find myself saying a lot.. And that is that no matter how competitive something is i feel that if you are talented and have a certain know how and understanding of the process, you will be discovered and calls will come in. The film industry is a business at the end of the day and they want to invest but only into promising returns. So especially with todays strong web presence and social media, we as artists should throw stuff out there and try and make comnections. And the talented ones will end up with favored results. The others, just never had it. Bottom line.
