Mondeo MK3, 2.2 TDCi (2006.) injectors problem?

Not sure if I have a problem with injectors regaridng engine noise and smoke or that is normal.

Try cleaning out the injectors with cleaner straight into fuel line, can make a huge difference. The DMF generally goes noisy around 140,000 on these, engines. (Springs cracked) Also get rid of EGR and fit straight through kit, makes an amazing difference to the driving smoothness.

How did you fix it? Mine has the same problem. It gets better but not perfect when it warms up.

Hi there I've got a 2005 Mondeo st tdci an I have a problem it keeps overheating but when you pull over it drops the heaters in car aren't working either any ideas on what this could be please

I think the noise is because its winter, when the engine is warm the noise is the same?

It had 165.000 km back then. I've changed all the heaters. Two were gone.

Damian Ambroziak Hi, two glow plugs were gone. I've replaced all four (Beru) and now it's much, much quieter on cold start. Also, there is no more puff of white smoke on cold start either. Do you have same problem?

MondeoVlog years ago a friend had a mk3 2.0 tddi that had a couple of dodgy glow plugs but unfortunately they couldn't be removed not without taking the head off, he learned to live with it and it was fine when warmed up. A solid engine that covered 150k and still did 47mpg, not bad considering it had the non electric injectors. He has a 2.2 ghia x saloon now and what impresses me is the sheer amount of low down torque! For me though I'll stick to my 2.0 duratec petrol as there is less to go wrong but I manage a very respectable 35.6mpg combined.
