Thanks for the great video - I had to take out the pedal box to replace the brake pedal pushrod seal, it helped me a great deal with the separating the clutch pedal and the master cylinder from the rest of the pedal box. Cheers and keep up the good work.

That’s great! I have the same car. Could you please advice me if the master cylinder could damage the slave cylinder? I was so unlucky…replaced 2 slave cylinders in less than 3000 miles…Every time I have all the kit parts replaced. All LUK. Now I put a Sachs slave cylinder but still afraid that will fail again. Clutch pedal seems to work well. Thanks for what you’re doing!!!!

I used to have a works transit van where the master cylinder had failed but still worked enough to change gear - but if the clutch was held in longer than 10 seconds it would start releasing the clutch - which was scary first few times at junctions, the clutch pedal was on the floor and a foot on the brake and the van creeping forward. In the end I got used to it because the boss didn’t want to fix - and drove it for a couple of years like that - I just shifted to neutral at lights in traffic ect .
@davecoleman74312 жыл бұрын
Martin ask gal if he or his ol lady ride the clutch pedal? You can get a fluid u can run through it to swell the seals I said on a previous message if the car has sat for long periods all rubber and o rings suffer Put the fluid through it and see if it clears it Originally I thought it might be like old cortina’s where you have a nylon adjustment and it has to click round great video mate
@menditmatey33682 жыл бұрын
That’s unfortunate about the clutch. Even with the cost of parts it’s still worthwhile sorting, in my opinion. Peace of mind and some more videos! 👍
@Nick416222 жыл бұрын
Looks more likely clutch damage, since it came on without warning, just my opinion. Nice work Martin & Gary👍

Oh the joys of a hydraulic clutch, the good old cable days were far better, or the mk1/mk2 Astra gearboxes where you dropped the clutch out of the lower inspection hatch. 30 minutes for a clutch change. Looking forward to part two, I’m lucky to do clutches on my ramp at work but grovelling around the floor doing it HELL NO . Good luck guys 👍🇬🇧

Blimey maybe even replacing DMF flywheel as your going to have gearbox off sounds expensive in parts please don't buy cheap Drivetec clutch kit from Europarts been there with Daughters BMW mini only to find it slipping 6 months later i should of read reviews beforehand go for LUK or SACHS kits lets hope its only slave cylinder
