I’m an American and been following Mondo’s journey for YEARS since he was 10 years old. That first question about him being “Swedish enough” really irks me. Way to start an interview right? How about start with “how does that gold feel? Or talk about his world record? Don’t matter what he represents. He’s treated like a king in Sweden, then love him and he clearly shows the same love in return.

And to be repeatedly breaking your own records again and again is so alike Bolt
@CeRz4 ай бұрын
Sorry, but duplantis has far surpassed usain bolt already. He has 9 straight championship golds and he hasn't lost a single time since 2019, and he has been undefeated all throughout 2020 up until now, 15 straight golds.
@Thaerii3 ай бұрын
@@CeRz it's more difficult for a sprinter to do that since even when you're that much better than your competition, margins are a lot smaller. I also think that any other championships than the World Athletics Championships and the Olympics should be disregarded in a global perspective since in some regions of the world, one or two nations have a huge edge over others, while things are a lot more equal in others. I say this as a Swede, by the way, so I _love_ what Duplantis is doing.
@CeRz3 ай бұрын
@@Thaerii i disagree. Mention 1 other pole vaulter *as* dominant as duplantis in recent times. Also, he broke the world record... again, after the olympic games, now the world record is 6.26 m set by duplantis in diamond league after his previous world record at 6.25 m set at the olympic games final. Your margin is a poor meassurement, and it deludes you. There is no other pole vaulter in history that has broken more world records than duplantis, I don't even think there is a single athlete that has broken more world records than duplantis, and what is he, 24/25 years old? After duplantis is done with his career in many years from now, his records, his championship titles and gold medal wins will be known as something impossible to ever beat across all sports. He is the single best athlete of all time. He is a wonder boy.
