I don't think Kerr comes across the best in interviews but I think he was great in this one

Thanks for posting this long form interview! It really provides some interesting insights about the mentality of a top athlete, as well as a view behind the scenes on what decisions go into training, planning a season, etc. I wish we'd hear more about Josh's training itself. Chris knows how to make athletes feel comfortable and just have a casual conversation with them, which is defintely interesting to hear. However, one key criticism I have for Citius/Chris (which goes hand in hand with the above), is that they rarely, if ever, ask hard questions. Even when the interviewee makes bold and controversial statements, Chris plays along, instead of maybe questioning Josh's point of view and or sincereness. I feel like an interviewer such as JG might have had some follow-up questions on some of the statements made in this interview. But perhaps this is why Kerr and the likes of him choose to interview with Citius way more often than they do with other outlets. I assume that the affiliation CM has with GST doesn't hurt either. It's nice to hear Kerr admitting that he hasn't raced much thus far, and GST is here to change that (I'm sure he'll still race less throughout the year than others, but at least this a step in the right direction). But if you're going to be honest, why not be completely honest and say that the main reason for racing more is the contract and prize money that GST provides. There's no shame in admitting that. Moving on to some of the actual statements: 1) Calling Arop (who has very similar credentials in the 800 as Kerr does in the 1500 - WC Gold, Oly Silver) cute and questioning his ability to compete for the #1 spot in the 800/1500 GST double, saying he needs to use his head (is he calling him dumb?) is definitely a statement that warrants more discussion, instead of just nodding along. Kerr has the best 800m group? What about Nice Guys Track Club? or any other team that produced 800m finalists? I haven't seen other Beasts having much success, besides Josh. Why is that comment not being challenged? Not to mention him just completely dissing Hocker, Nuguse, Kessler and Wanyonyi. Completely downplaying your competitors seems to be something that Josh took out of Jakob's playbook, and just like the latter, it will probably bite him back later (saying he will win all 4 meets...). 2) Lastly, Josh, here's a couple of questions for you (I don't expect Kerr to answer this, but it'd be nice if some media outlet asked him this at some point): Over the past year, you've mentioned in pretty much every interview you've been asked about Ingebrigtsen, that he doesn't win many non-paced races. How many non-paced 1500 races have you won? More to it than that, in at least one interview, you also mentioned that even when Jakob won in Tokyo, it wasn't really a non-paced race, as he had Cheruiyot pacing him. In that case, how many of your victories, medals, PBs and WBs have been paced that way, and who paced most of those? Cheers, and good luck in GST. It'll be a blast watching.

Great interview. I love that Josh has the balls and grace to say what he did about Arop. I think he is spot-on.

I understand the Kosmin test which can be adapted for slower male athletes using the female formula . However, can Marco advise what was his specific warm up for the test as this can be more crucial than the test itself . than you

It’s pretty sick to hear someone Else doing the 800 predictor workout. I always thought my coach was trying to gaslight me into running fast 😂. It’s also the hardest workout ever and it’s only two reps.

Думаю на 1500м больше шансов у Ваньони Его рекорд на шоссейной миле это доказал. Как выступит Ароп на 1500м мне самому очень интересно. Но судя по его забегам на 1000м, ему не хватает выносливости

I'm not seeing the benefits of prepping for the WC by running GST against Kerr, Nuguse and Hocker who are all 1500m guys. (imo It would have made more sense for them to sign up Hobbs Kessler.) Unless Wanyonyi, Sedjati, Hoppel, Tual or maybe Nijel Amos sign up as challengers in the GST he would have had better competition running in the Diamond Leagues.

In addition to medals, have a championship belt for every event. Whenever the belt holder loses a race in that event, it goes to the winner of said race. Medals could still be given out as normal.

La kényane qui détenait le record du monde du 5000m vient à nouveau de le battre et de passer pour la première fois en dessous de 14 minutes au 5000m. Katelyn doit travailler encore plus dur pour gagner une minute. Elle peut s'approcher du record du monde. Allez Katelyn ! Tu peux aller chercher ce record !

I'm a long time runner myself, and I've been following you for a while now. Every time I see you run, every race or event, you continue to amaze me how fluid and natural a runner you are. You set the bar just a little bit higher every time you lace up the shoes. God Bless you and much continued success in your running career.

Why only the British press showed up. (with one looking at his phone the whole time). Where were the Kenyan journalists?. Where were the French hosts? Australian press?. Why was no women interested enough to ask question of this Blue Riband women's event??.

Sorry but you need to get a haircut girl. Go see a stylist. Additionally, the title is misleading. YOU did good in the trials but in the Olympics you were a bust. What have you done lately. I wish you the best, but you need to get some good races in to be considered America's next best marathoner. You are for all practical purposes a one trick pony of your success at the trials.
