Really really liked this video learned a lot so much so I am going to go back to grey / white part of a dog and work in some more colours. Thanks again Sue I think this is one of my favourites so far as I am working on dogs at the moment

Sweet bear painting, I have a bunch of animals that I have photos of and need to get going on them! Zoo photos are not always the best, but a lot cheaper than a trip to Africa or Asia! I believe that you are speaking of Bear claws not finger nails, as most animals have paws not hands. Oh, but everyone has their own way of talking.

Hi! I live in Sweden and Senneliere pastels and card is easy for me to get here. Thank you for sharing your beautiful bear! Claws and all ☺️❤️

It was a real justification for the original picture and was gorgeous. Love the way you explained things. Because of you I purchased soft pastels, some colored pencils and some oil pastels. But I'm lack of confidence as I get stuck without knowing what to do. Maybe that's natural for a beginner. Keep up the good works and appreciate your efforts...

Yay!!! Keep it up! I got very frustrated when I first started using pastels, but little by little you start understanding and getting better. You can do it ☺️👏💜

You are so welcome my friend! You will see in the video that I actually used less than 25 pastels in creating this painting and I share the colors. Sleep well and have fun tomorrow!

@@monetcafe hi Susan 😀, I wanted to ask which paper did you use while painting the flamingo one because since I've been using woodcraft sandpapers, and pastel pencils for any miniatures and objects like this. It's actually really bad, it damages the tip of the pencil quite a lot. Also do tell what's difference between sanded paper and woodcraft sandpapers in terms of pastel application. Love from India ❤️

I'm just amazed that you can get little tiny details like the bears nose and claws with that big chunky piece of pastel. Also, you prefer Sennelier card over Pastelmat?
@monetcafe11 ай бұрын
Ha ha, yes, it does take a little bit of finesse. I actually make little tapping motions to feel where the pastel is going to land before I make my mark. And I happen to love both of those surfaces you mentioned, but Sennellier just wonderful for animals and portraits.

Hi, what surfice might be the other option or the closest to Sennelier pastel paper?
@monetcafe4 жыл бұрын
There are other surfaces that I like for animals, such as, UArt (400 grit), Ampersand Pastelbord and Pastel Mat. I also have been using a sanded paper made by Fisher (also 400 grit) that can be ordered from Pro Art Panels. Hope that helps.

@@monetcafe thank you! Pastelmat is the most available for me since I live in Finland 😊
@mjpete273 жыл бұрын
I like Clairefontain pastelmat papers for a sweet surface too. It grabs the pastel very well too. They come in a variety of colors to allow you to start your painting with out an under painting or contrasting color wash.

Thank you, most beautiful. It's funny but I have a bear sketch sitting ready to start. By the way what is the music you played, I could really paint to that.
@monetcafe3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! The music I use is from the KZbin audio library. KZbin has music clips for me to use that don’t have a copy right. You can probably check it out on KZbin, but unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the song and I’m not near my computer right now. Have fun!
