@25:00 I love that dude's videos. Ooo! And I've met Doug before. We met at "Youmacon" in Detroit twice, I didn't really talk (much that entire decade) but we stood in silence outside of the room he was supposed to be speaking in, I knew I seen him before, but I didn't know where until about a month after this. 😅 ☕🐝🇺🇸

I really love this in depth look into animation, I’m a big fan of animation (although only really focused on modern and western so I can’t really say I know that much at all) and seeing this sorta cause and effect of how all these events and social ideas come together and effect the direction and trends of animation and its history is fascinating. I really appreciate you putting the time to put all these things into perspective and the amount of research you had to do for it as well as the script and bits of humor put in. I’m glad to have discovered you through your two high guardian spice videos, you are seriously underrated

Aw thank you so much! I don't check my views at the moment because I don't want to fall into the trap of becoming obsessed with "how well a video did" but I believe this one isn't one of my best performing ones XD but I accepted that when I made it. So it really is encouraging to hear there are people who appreciate it! History is a favourite subject of mine, because it really gives a lot of perspective on things. And so a subject like Animation history is a lot of fun for me! But I admit I needed a break from this time period after making this video as the emotions of people's struggles started becoming heavy by the time I was done.

It's the same thing with original fairy stories. Everyone says "OMG how can something made for kids be so scary?!?!?!" They were morality tales, meant to keep kids from doing dumb, dangerous things that could get them killed. They were SUPPOSED to be scary. Also a lot of them were not made for kids at all, but were a bit like campfire tales people made up to scare the crap out of each other.

It really is bizarre how many people use "I THOUGHT THIS WAS MADE FOR KIDS?!" as an argument. It really just shows how little they remember about actually being a kid. Heck, there's a reason why "mascot horror" franchises are so popular with children. They aren't fragile little pieces of glass that will be ruined for life just from seeing a spooky monster in a movie once.

Interesting to learn this is why Mickey Mouse was such a zombie. And of course, this trickles down to drinking "milk" in Dragonball Z and puff on lollipops... lol
