Talking to myself about inflation, debt, the economy. Has the Federal Reserve stabilized the monetary system and employment over time? Where would we be without the Fed to keep the economy stable and healthy?

Economists have this weird idea that without inflation, everyone would just hoard their money and the money supply would collapse. So the idea is that we need constant inflation eroding the value of the currency. The USD has lost like 99% of its value since 1913. How are generations supposed to pass on wealth?

assets. but yes the whole thing is set up so that israelis who own the banks dont have to work and can make money from capital gains instead.

That's the whole point - they're not supposed to do that anymore. Except for the 1% of course.
