Penny for your Thoughts? Question of the Day: What is your bread and butter? What do you do to bring home the bacon? Please add your two cents to the comments. My answer: I bring home the bacon by teaching English to international students. How about you?

hello Jen. I’m so glad to see you again on KZbin because I’ve taken your lessons last year at the language school!! I was worried your condition but looks good. I already went back Japan and started new job but I don’t have opportunity to learn English than I was in Toronto. So I’m looking forward to seeing and learning by your video!! Take care of yourself.

Hello Mai, thank you so much for your kind comment. It is so nice to hear from you. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Toronto while you were here. Thanks for your concern about my health, I had surgery to fix the broken bone and am now getting better day by day. I hope that things are going well for you back in Japan. What is your new job? I hope that my video lessons on JeN's Jyugyou will continue to help you with your English studies. :)

💸Haha, thanks for adding your two cents. Wow, working in importing you probably get quite a few opportunities to meet people from other countries and practice your English. That's good.

These idioms are unknown for me. They are very realistic. The one” Cost an arm and a leg for something” we have one, more or less, similar “cuesta un ojo de la cara” (it cost one eye of the face)✨ I hafta watch the video several times. Jen, could I say also: I´ve gotta watch... or I gotta watch...??

That's so interesting that both Spanish and English have idioms for things being expensive connected to losing body parts. 😅 When speaking casually all three expressions are correct and basically mean the same thing: I hafta watch, I've gotta watch, and I gotta watch. 👍🏻 When writing or being more formal, the best choice is: I have to watch (or I've got to watch). 🙂
