I agree 100% Mike. I'm so tired of the rat race that I live in. I'll be using next year to take care of everything that's needed to retire in the Philippines. Selling house, medical, getting 13A, etc. I'm retiring Dec of next year and the flying over in March of 2025 after making sure my SS and pensions are working correctly. Can't wait!

im reading this comment of yours, am the complete opposite-a middle age single filipina who just started life here in US with a stable job in the healthcare and realized life here in US is only good in your working age. In 3 years i can apply for US citizenship but hell no am not gonna renounce my filipino citizenship, i can be dual. . Seeing how foreiigners view my country as paradise while its own citizens perceive the Philippines as hell and land of no opportunity is absurd. I could not agree for the ambivalence. I feel like a aged a lot working here in US and wished i could have a longer lifespan and stay healthy to go back to my country and live there thinking its MY PARADISE jiust like what u US/western retirees think of it. Good luck, thanks for choosing the Philippines as your place of retirement despite of its being prone to natural calamities and not so strong economy compared to its neighboring countries.

Mike, you are someone I hope to sit down with when I make it over there. My trip has been delayed until 2025, an I am lucky that my Filipina is waiting for my move there. The cost of living and the stress and not being alone, are all the same reasons you talk about. Merry Christmas 😊

As usual, Mike, you lay things out in realistic terms! Everything you talked about struck a chord with me. After my Filipina Wife passed, a little over 2 years ago, I couldn’t find the happiness I knew, and loneliness was my constant companion. My late Wife and I had planned to retire there, and one day I decided to pursue my half of it. Fortunately, I met the most incredible lady I’ve ever known! Christine is excited about the possibility of meeting Janet, and since I joined your channel, 7 months ago, I feel like I’m sitting with a long-time friend, when I watch your videos! I hope that we can sit down over a cup of coffee and I can introduce you and Janet to the reason I get up each day. Maybe I’ll bring you a birthday gift? Only 400 more subs to hit your 2023 goal! Great job 👍

What you say about being lonely when you where single also hits a cord. I never knew loneliness before this last year. My wife & I were married when we were 19 years old. We were happily married for 46 years. She died almost a year ago. I've been blessed with good health and fitness my entire life. Right now, I'm thinking about how to find that beautiful woman I believe God has for me. Maybe she is in the Philippines.

I live there for a little over a year. It's a union state so if you're in the culinary work your jobs all over in construction.

I can understand why you wanted to leave because of all the political nonsense. I am almost the same age as you and had to work all my life. Now you see all the handouts given by this administration rewarding people who don’t want to work. Don’t even get me started on all the illegals coming in and the burden on us living here.

I saw all that and it made me want to leave even more

So many of the most successful bloggers in the Philippines came to the country from America between 2015 and 2020. Which is weird, because America was finally GREAT AGAIN. We had the greatest president who has ever served in American history. God chose him to save America from woke. So why leave for the Philippines? 🤔
