The best way to avoid giving money to your friend in whatever form, be it money or being a guarantor is that you tell him that your father had done similar mistake when you were kid, because of which you suffered and therefore you have chosen for your life not to do the same mistake of lending money or be a guarantor for anyone in life. They will never come back asking for money from you.

Not for realative and friends many people would have been millionaires😢

If one cannot help friends and relatives, whats the use of being such a millionaire. If we dont help our near and dear ones, who will? And if we have the need who should we turn to? I agree we need to be smart with money, save enough for a rainy day etc.. but everything should not only be focused on me myself mine. Based on the need if its a medical or education need one should always help friends amd relatives

I am 27, and trust me this video is extremely insightful for me. Having given a loan to a friend I feel I have compromised my friendship as the warmth is missing now. I sometimes feel like asking for my money back but at the same time, I do not want him to hate me for that! I feel I should have made an excuse that time but I did want to help him.

Not disclosing might hurt our close ones. Better to lie and underplay your income. Whenever finances are discussed, pretend to be going through financial difficulty. Complain about rising expenses every now & then.
