I've been looking for someone to explain why it is common with youths and older people using money. All the babalawo or native doctors should come out and speak against human rituals. However, it is common with the Yorubas just as prostitution was common with a tribe in Nigeria in the past. You only have to mention Benin and Italy for someone to fill the gap. It's just now that all our girls are into it, and even at that up till now if you mention Benin girls and Italy ,you get the answer straight up. So also is our Yoruba people, the percentage of our people engaging in the act is higher than any other tribe. That's my take. It is rampant with the Yorubas. I'm one and sometimes I wish I was not one. It is shameful and disgraceful. Very sad!

Traditionally, there is nothing like money Ritual in Káàárọ̀ Oòjìire (a.k.a Ọmọ Odùduwà) culture. Ritual is a series of actions or type of behaviour regularly and invariably followed by someone. The word ritual is a Latin word "ritus", the word "rites" is also derived from it. Some of us have morning ritual, some don't. "Money Ritual" is actually a Nigeria variation of English language, it makes no sense to the native speaker of the language who haven't been exposed to the Nollywood movies. When you even look at the Odùduwà translation of "Money Ritual", it makes no sense! "Money ritual" - - Òògùn Owó. If "ritual" is a repeated action, how did we arrive at "Òògùn Owó" since Yorùbá (Odùduwà language) translation for "Òògùn" is "Medicine"? Why not "Owó Ẹbọ"? The word Òògùn in Yorùbá (Odùduwà language) is actually a generic name for anything made with leaves, bark, animal products, either for medical use or spiritual use. Oogun is divided into two: (1)medical (2)protection Protection is sub divided into two: (i) Spiritual (ii) Physical Example of physical protection would be an "Òkìgbẹ". All Òògùn stem from herbs, either for spiritual or physical. Oògùn owó doesn't follow or can't be found in any of these categories. Money has never being a value of life in Káàárọ̀ Oòjíire land. Just like "lucky charm" is as old as time, there are concept of "lucky charms" in Káàárọ̀ Oòjíire land. One of them is Òògùn Àwúre. Most people don't know that "Àdúrà" is not a Yorùbá (Káàárọ̀ Oòjíire) word for prayer, the word came with the imported Abrahamic religions; or have you ever heard any Awo saying: "mo fẹ́ lọ gba Àdúrà sí Ògún or Elédùmarè"? It's only Christians and Muslims that do "gba Àdúrà". The Yorùbá (Káàárọ̀ Oòjíire) word for prayer is "Ìwúre or "Ìsúre" or Á "Àwúre". The word "Àwúre" denotes "blessing". Therefore, it makes sense to say "Oògùn Àwúre". The problem with our society is that we are not educated enough on our own culture and the new imported slave culture we adopted, ignorantly leads us to concoction of weird believes and foreign ideas. Whenever this "ritualistic murder" happens, you will never see a person like Èṣùyẹmí, Ifálékè, Ọ̀sunbìyí, etc. but what you see is Muhammd, Salami, Mathew, Peter, Paul, alfa Nojimu, Prophet Salisu, etc. You can believe what you want to believe but remember that there is no evidence that traditionally, Yorùbá (Káàárọ̀ Oòjíire people) believe in what is called "Òògùn Owó". Wealth is associated with Òrìṣà Ajé. Technology and metal is associated with Ògún Lákáayé. Fertility is associated with Ọ̀sun. Knowledge is associated with Ọ̀rúnmìlà.

Could you please define the word "Money Ritual"? He emphasized on what's called "Ege Igi Agunla", a term in the tradition. Also, a saying says in the tradition that "Eni Ba Sin Imole ni Imole n gbe" he who worships an Orisha gets the favour of such an Orisha. Saying initiation into Ifa is a source of fortune in this context is what's called "Metaphor" in English Language. The meaning of what he said is that whoever is initiated into Ifa would be taking care of by Ifa. Even in the other Religion, they do say their God is not a God of poverty, meaning when you serve him, you can't be poor. Many people go to their places of worship to pray for breakthrough. So when you have Ikin Ifa that is initiated, and you always "Bo Ifa", then ask whatever you want from Ifa, which could be wealth or anything else. So my own definition of money ritual is a combination of two words - money and ritual. Not money and killing. Thanks
