Came here for the wood stove. Love your cedar posts/columns on the outside of your home.

I'd never seen a zero clearance stove or installation before. I've had one freestanding, then an insert, then a fireplace furnace. Thank you for sharing.
@DFDuck556 жыл бұрын
That hand truck is awesome! I've never seen one of those. -- I think the insert is a lot better choice than a fireplace, safer and a lot more efficient. Probably best to have a few fires in that stove and break it in before moving into the house. New stoves and flue pipes can have a bad smell at first.

You sound just as excited as I am about wood stoves and fireplaces. Lol nothing like a nice wood fire in the house…nothing makes for a more cozy home environment! Gas just can’t even come close!

I love wood stoves but I like the ease of cleaning it out with out having to put the fire out or let it go out to clean out any ash ect that builds up over time. I have always like stoves with a bottom section that collects the ash to remove and get rid of with out really disturbing the fire. but pretty cool either way. I guess in a double wide like what I have this would work great in.
@KeepingItDutch5 жыл бұрын
I have a big wood stove that has a ash pan like your talking about, ive used ot like 3 times ever, its just to small to mess with, i usually will just move my coals to one side and clean the ashes then push the coals back into place and add wood😁

I have a buck stove 51zc. Could you do a video of how you get a fire started on yours? Sometimes I have a issue with smoke billowing out of ours on start up
@karenrn61736 жыл бұрын
Hopefully that silver flume holds up well from the creosilt from burning wood. About 50 years ago my parents converted their fire place with a wood burning stove. A few years later it almost burnt the family home down. But all is well still in the house built in 1920. Enjoy your new home.

Pretty easy to run a brush up from the bottom on these models, either through the stove or popping the stove out for a few minutes.

Super interesting! Actually learned a lot with your video here, thanks for sharing! We have a free standing wood stove, doesn't look like it would be too hard to do a frame out for one of these zero clearance stoves. Is the only way to clean the pipe from the roof brushing it down?
@unitedcountryarkansasprope30293 жыл бұрын

@dominicferro83144 жыл бұрын
So that insert doesn’t need any special firewall around it to keep the lumber from getting heated up?
@tombogaert10154 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's insulated as hell. Another plus side of that is, even if your power goes out and the blowers aren't running it will still put out a lot of heat.
@feralbigdog5 жыл бұрын
what is the cost of that buck stove? if the power went out, how well would it do providing heat? do you have drawn plans of the framing that i can see? i noticed an electrical cable to the right inside that, isnt there any worry about the insulation melting?

I have a chimney that has an 8" ID & 10" OD piping. My new zero clearance wood burning fireplace insert requires an 8" ID & 12" OD. What's the big deal if I don't change my 10" to a 12"? Can it really make that much of a difference?

$1000.00 for them to install that chimney, right? Double wall DuraVent?

When you say build a fireplace do you really mean build a chimney? Because you're building a fireplace now-you have plans to put rock there right? Will it throw out as much heat as your pole house wood burner?
