Be happy, live within your means, and do it around the shit you love. That's it .. that's the recipe. Really hoping we can begin to turn the narrative about "success" from money to happiness and content.

@@draj3214 Programming is a *VERY* good field. You will get a job, keep trying, the prize is for those with patience. :). It is more important to be patient than to be a genius, trust me. (I have worked at 10 companies in IT, but as a graphic designer for web/print for corporate image and etc, and game artist, but have worked together with many developers. Also for coders as a freelancer (as currently)). Keep at it, seriously, you will get that job, and then, many more.

@@draj3214 Meanwhile, do some coding project, something interesting for you, and put the results (maybe even a blog with the progress! to bring attention) on a blog and on Linkedin (important). You might be surprised. In the worse scenario, the accountability generated to yourself, even if not getting interviews, make you work heavily in the project, and that's how one learns more, and very importantly, then you will have that project to show, not just a cold resume. If you make a second project (but finish each one!!) and then a third one, then much better. One way or the other, this is what you like, you will get a job.

Yes you correct. I trying to say to my friends but they don’t get this . They show things in order to impress on others what they don’t have. For me , I rather keep myself low key and work hard what suit me and trust my process. I don’t ever bother to go after those materials possession as it didn’t cross my mind thru. I just want them to be more mindful on their security and value. I don’t care how expensive things and cars and big house but in the end , it was all about their responsibility to pay their bills. That’s it.

Money isn't everything, but the sure lack of it can make life really suck :) Imagine being in your 40's, you live in a major US city. You have a wife and kids and you're supposed to be content with making 50k a year?. Gary, You'd be destitute on that wage.

I feel like there getting people to just spend more to get rid of money. What he should have said is consumerism doesn't make you happy which I notice many people are stuck in debt because these stupid trends that get people buy more for that tempoary happinest or buy to please others. Consumerism is nice when its balance but now its predatory.
