I'll share based on my experience. PE ratio is one of the factors to consider while determining a stock's valuation. PE ratio differs between two different line of businesses. For eg. PE ratio of an IT stock should not be compared with other companies from Pharma, banking etc. At times, even a company commanding high PE may be good to consider because of it's future growth potential. Look for companies which are earning decent net profits consistently, having low PE levels from earlier levels. Conclusion. Everyone has his or her own methods to value a stock. In the end, it's upto their individual decisions to make a call before buying a stock.
