Just watched the 2019 French Open R16 match between Monfils and Thiem. Jim Courier, who is an outstanding analyst, mentioned that Thiem's movement was far more efficient than that of Monfils. Basically, Thiem knows when to move in when is in an offensive position. Whereas, Monfils does not move in to capitalize when he is an offensive position. That is just great analysis.

I've noticed that Gasquet doesn't slice as much on his backhand, something that players like Federer, Wawrinka, and Dimitrov do a lot. He must be really comfortable with his topspin/drive backhand.

oh you didn't know? His one handed backhand is recognized as a similar moment in tennis every time it strikes. And that is an understatement. Look up "Gasquet" backhand on youtube. He has a 9 part series. Some say that series rivals the Lord of the Rings in terms of depth and quality.

Gasquet's backhand was a thing of beauty and he could vaporize it at times for brilliant winners. I would think all players that utilize the one hander would want to study it in depth.

looks like gasquet hits with an eastern forehand. rare in today's game. he should consider switching to a western or semi-western.

I think his wrist is stronger than average, so he can get away with it. Super forearm wrist snap effect.

The ball of Gael at 8.33 is good(on the base line )but Gasquet show the ball out. This is bad to cheating man. Well,it's just a trainning after all.
